This is the Fitness Wisdom podcast.
Doctor Amuse, thank you for coming on the Fitness Wisdom Podcast. It's an absolute pleasure and honor to have you on the show. Me and you, we have a very similar interest, you know, of circadian and quantum biology. We really understand that biophysics govern the biochemistry of our body, right? So This is why I'm so excited for our conversation today. We're going to be diving into all things light, water and magnetism. And this is what my audience really, really loves. So thank you for being here.
Thanks, Andres. Thank you for having me. Let's start off with one of the most obvious right? So what are the dangers of sun avoidance? The dangers of sun avoidance is that your body literally runs on sunlight. What you use for energy, what you use to run yourselves is not food. This is a very, very, you know, outside the mainstream idea and nothing that I was taught in Med school. But believe it or not, what powers processes in the cells is not ATP and not energy that we get from breakdown of food.
What actually powers the cell is we have melanin in our cells. Melanin absorbs sunlight and other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, and it uses that energy in order to split water and create an electric current. And that powers everything in your life, everything in the cell, all your body functions. So if you're not getting sunlight, you are compromising your ability to generate energy. And it's as simple as that. If you're stuck indoors exposed to artificial light, you are not powering that part of yourself.
Wow. So what kind of symptoms do you see in your practice from people who spend an indoor lifestyle? Who avoid the sun? What kind of everyday, you know, common diseases are we seeing because of this? I mean, you could probably blame all of diseases to sun to lack of sunlight. Add to that, you know, toxins that we're exposed to, whether those are chemical toxins in our foods, whether those are electromagnetic frequencies, whether that's a blue light. All of these factors are contributing to our disease epidemic that we're seeing now.
Diseases manifest in the way the disease manifests in in people, in each person depends on their own setup, their own, the way their biology runs. But the causes of illnesses are all the same. And avoiding sunlight is one of the most common causes. Wow, wow. I'm wondering like, how did you actually get into this work because it's not such a common path. What was the trigger that actually laid you down, you know, studying the more of the biophysics lens of the body? Yeah. I mean, so my story is that, you know, my dad was a physician.
He was a plastic surgeon. So he dealt with a lot of, you know, burn victims, heart surgeries, and their patients were very appreciative of his work. And that was what drove me, what motivated me to become to want to become a doctor. And you know, I worked hard to get into medical school. I had to do an undergraduate degree first. I get into medical school and the first couple of months in Med school, what they do for, you know, first year students is that they bring them mock patients. So patients who have a certain condition, say rheumatoid arthritis or something else, so that you see how this condition looks in that person.
So I remember seeing a rheumatoid arthritis patient and I remember how deformed her joints were. And she looked in, in so much clearly she was in so much pain. And so I talked to her and I'm like, how long have you had this condition? And she told me 10 or 15 years. And I told her, so have you been doing the things that your doctor has been recommending? And she's like, yes, I take the, I take all the medications, I do all the blood work. And so I'm like, so why are your joints still deformed? How much improvement have you had by doing this?
And she told me I had a 20 or 30% improvement. And that was quite shocking for me. You know, I, I've always dreamt of becoming a doctor. I've worked hard to get into medical school. I still had so many years ahead of me and all I could help people was with 20 or 30% improvement. And it was quite, quite depressing moment for me realizing that, you know, I'm entering a system that's incapable of helping people. And what is the point of this? Why am I doing this? Thankfully, at the same time, while I was going through these realizations, I've stumbled onto the paleo diet.
And improving my own diet helped me a lot improve the way I felt, the how I felt physically, emotionally, psychologically. And I started wondering, well, if I take what I've learned and start applying it to these miserable patients that I see every day, can I help people feel better? And that's what I discovered is that's how you actually heal people. You fix their lifestyle, the original cause of disease. And you know, for me personally, diet only took me so far that I felt so much better only to up to a certain point, but still, you know, you hit a plateau and you still don't feel that great.
And it's only when I bumped into the work of Doctor Jack Cruz, when I started understanding the effects of light on our biology, that I truly understand my body completely and the potential of my body and how to what actually causes diseases on a much more fundamental level. What if your healthy habits and routines are quietly sabotaging your health and actually creating more stress on your nervous system? The truth is, your body is constantly giving you feedback, but most people are not paying attention to it.
One of the best ways to really understand what's happening inside of your body is through heart rate variability, also known as HRV. The problem is, many HRV devices just give you a single number, a high score, or a low score without telling you what's actually driving the results. This is why I use a longer HRV measuring device. A longer doesn't just measure your HRV, it analyzes the components behind that number, giving you real insight into the balance between stress and recovery, and really helps you understand what state your nervous system is actually in in just a few minutes every morning.
A longer gives you objective feedback on how your sleep training habits and lifestyle choices are influencing your body. HRV is one of the most unbiased ways to see how your daily decisions are influencing your nervous system. It shows you whether the things that you're doing are truly supporting your health or creating more stress than you realize. Instead of guessing, you can measure, learn, and make smarter decisions about your health, performance, and recovery. So if you want to find my favorite HRV measuring device, head over to the description and make sure to use the promo code MOBILITY FITNESS at checkout to get a nice discount on your entire order.
So you were already then like quite switched on as a, you know, from a young age, really the way that you entered the medical school, you already had this like questioning pretty much you, you went in there with the a mission to be able to help people. And you realize that the system is broken. Like it's not, it doesn't actually like go after the root cause. It puts like a plaster on top of the symptom, but it doesn't address like the root cause of the problem, right. And we kind of like treat the body like a machine.
And in some cases, you know, in some surgeries or whatever, that may be useful in some situations, like extreme cases, like emergencies, for example. But in most cases, you know, when we're talking about chronic diseases, it's really about, as you're saying, it all comes back to 1 fundamental factor. What would you say that that one fundamental factor actually is? Would you say it's like mitochondrial dysfunction? It's separation from nature. That's that's basically the root of all, all disease.
You could be more specific and say it's mitochondrial dysfunction. It could be, you know, lack of this melanin generated energy field in the cell, the lack of, you know, a proper water and around the cell. But the answer is going back to nature. And you know, I'm not suggesting that we all go naked and live in the jungle again, but you know, the the more aligned we are with the nature of the nature that our bodies evolved under, the healthier that we are isn't. It crazy like how as human beings we, we somehow think that nature is something good to go to, but it's not like we are not like part of it anymore.
So we have like totally dissociated ourselves. It's like there is nature and then there is US rather that we are nature and we came from nature. But because we have lived so many years, you know, in these concrete boxes, which are, you know, causing this disharmament ungrounded away from the natural light and away from the natural oscillations in the temperature and all of these seasonal inputs that our biology is supposed to get, then we are like wondering why we are facing all of these problems.
Especially when you think about all of the mental health issues that people are experiencing. Something which I tell people all the time is that yet you don't really have a mental health issue. It's just that your body is like crying for help. You know, it's sort of like on a fundamental level, on a biological level, your cells are not working as they should. And therefore your body is like showing signs of, you know, like a sick animal when it's not able to, like, function properly again. And do you want to maybe tell me a little bit about the when you look at somebody, like from the outside, what would be one way for you to tell whether they are healthy or not?
Yeah. I mean, obviously the level of tan is a very good reflection. The, the level of, you know, how bright your face looks, how that spark in your eye, these are all suggestions that inside your melanated. Well, that's one way. The other way is, you know, a lot of people these days tend to they're either very obese and so that's telling that there's an energy dysfunction in the body. Or on the other extreme, they're, they're too thin and are over exercising themselves and are not eating enough and their circadian rhythm is malfunctioned.
And that this you can also tell from looking at looking at people and the amount of fat that they have and the amount of muscle that they have. So these are all very good tellers and just talking to people, you know, inherently deep inside everyone of us, you know, our psyche knows when we feel well. And if you're having any sorts of symptoms, they will manifest in some certain way. Even if the person doesn't know that what they're doing is wrong, it's either going to manifest in physical symptoms, emotional symptoms, psychological symptoms.
People just come to me and tell me, you know, I feel that I'm not doing the right thing for in my career. And this is also a symptom of you're just separated from your nature, whether that's physical or emotional. Wow, wow. That's amazing. Yeah, it's all goes together. We are multi dimensional beings, right. When you take care of your physical body also helps you emotionally and spiritually, but also the other way around. Of course it depends like the amount of your spiritual practice and your, you know, your awareness and your consciousness, but it's way easier to cultivate that in a body which is actually healthy.
And as you're mentioning, is when we reconnect back to nature, like our health is more easily restored because we are in the elements which actually shaped our biology. And it seems that the body interestingly needs a specific type of demand on it in order to be healthy. Am I correct? Yeah. If you're on the couch all day, then your body doesn't think that it needs to use those muscles or those bones for any purpose and it atrophies. So you need to use them. You need to move around and also you have certain mechanisms in order to make you adjusted to sunlight, for example.
So if you're not exposed to sunlight, these mechanisms go away. The melanin, the tan that you have goes away. And the more that you don't exercise this muscle, the harder it is for you to eventually go out in the sun and enjoy that sun. And it starts to become a burden on your body whenever you do go out. And so that's how people, that's how most people who live in a cubicle all year, you know, they go on vacation once a year and they get sunburned and they blame it on the sun. Well, no, the problem is not the sun.
The problem is that you've been under artificial light inside all year. And then you all of a sudden expose to yourself to this incredible source of energy out of nowhere. I live in a cold environment. I live in the Northeast of the United States in Massachusetts. I in the winter, it's very hard for me to be outside in the sun, but I go out and just expose my eyes and my face. And that on its own actually maintains the tan that I have on the rest of my body. If you're just in line with with the sun that way.
And when spring starts to happen, I gradually increase my sun exposure up to the point where I can sit outside all day. And that that's the healthy way of doing it. Keep, keep your relationship with the sun all year round and then when the weather is right, gradually build up your tolerance so that you can spend more time outside. Yes. Yeah, 1000%. Like I'm outside 365 days a year. I'm, I'm based in Cyprus, which is in Europe and you know, we're close to Egypt, close to Turkey, all of these countries around.
And it gets pretty hot here in the summertime. And it's also quite OK in the winter time. It gets quite cold, maybe like 10°C is like the lowest. It's not that cold, but it's pretty cold for here because now, for example, it's climbing towards 40°C, which is like pretty hot, right? And the UV index reaches 11/12. So it gets very, very harsh, but it's not harsh for me or my partner Tina, because we're, we're outside like 365 days a year getting in the sea, you know, being outdoors. And even when our melanin slowly disappears, even though we are spending time outside, because the UV intensity is decreasing, like our body then adopts very quickly when spring starts to come back around and then the summer comes back.
It's like our our melanin comes to the surface very, very fast and we don't even burn at all. Now like my partner Tina, she never wore any sunscreens when she was young and she tans even better than me and she's from Finland and I'm basically I'm half secret. So half from Cyprus and half from the UK. So my mother is from the UK. So that's probably why I don't get like a stand. My father is from here, but still like, it's just crazy to realize that if you use sunscreens earlier or on in your life, your ability to turn later on in life is not as great, I feel compared to, you know, someone who hasn't used it.
So it's your body has this incredible built in mechanism, which is, you know, designed to protect you from the sun. It's not really like, OK, it's just like an adaptive mechanism, right? I say protect because I don't feel like it's a form of protection. It's almost like an adaptation in order to harvest more light. Almost like a plant has chlorophyll right to harvest photonic energy. All of these mechanisms are being, you know, they're becoming weaker and weaker because we're not making use of them.
That is, that is a a big problem. And I think, you know, there's a lot of people in the health space talking about, you know, how our diet has been separated from nature, how, you know, we don't move enough like we used to do in nature. I don't think there's enough people talking about just our light environment and how important that is. Do you know people, people think so you need to be extreme and you need to be moved to the tropics and be under the sunlight all day, which is great. Ideally that everyone should do that.
But, you know, just start off in your own environment, go outside, do some grounding, get morning sun every day, regardless of how cold it is. It's going to make such a big difference in your life. And I feel those simple steps have like they've taught me so much about my body and they've made, they've made me appreciate the importance of light in in just healing disease and in in making you feel your best. Yeah, it really is the the source of life, right? Like we are literally a human battery made-up of water.
How concerned do you get when you see somebody white, especially in the middle of summer? Like, like, what are your what's going on in your head? You know, when you see someone like extremely white when they should be like really, really tanned at that time of the year? Yeah, I mean. It's pretty telling when you talk to people and you just see the more separated they are from the natural sunlight cycles, the paler they are, and you start to see, So what are they using in order to in order to compensate for it.
And a lot of times these people are either eating too much, eating a lot of sugar, eating a lot of processed foods because that's the way their biology is compensating for it, or they have more serious problems like alcoholism or even drugs. Versus if you see someone who's who goes hiking, who goes out in nature, who sits in the sun, you tend to see that all these bad habits tend to not be there. So it's it's very telling. It's kind of like the entire the entire picture becomes clear once you see how how connected people are to nature that.
Most people focus on nutrition and exercise when it comes to health, and that's cool. But if you're sitting under artificial lights all day, that's quietly sabotaging your health. That's not going to get you very far. As an educator, podcaster, and fitness professional, I care about recovery as much as I do performance. The biggest secret to recovery isn't supplements, it's light. The light that hits your eyes is literally the instruction manual for your body as your sleep energy metabolism and your hormones.
The problem is the modern indoor lighting is sending that signal at the wrong times of the day, from morning to midnight, so your body never gets the message the day's over. Now if you already own a pair of blue light blocking glasses, hear me on this. Not all blue light blockers are equal. Viva rays use a three in one light balancing system. Magnetic day, sunset orange and nighttime red lenses you swap to actually match the time of day. So you get energized in blue in the morning without the eye strain and protect your sleep at night.
One pair dials you in for the entire day. That's the difference between just blocking light and actually syncing with it. Since wearing Viva Rays Blue light blocking glasses, my sleep is deeper, my recovery is fantastic, and most importantly, my energy and cognitive function are through the roof. If you're ready to experience the difference for yourself, head over to vivarays.com/mobility Fitness and make sure to use my code Mobility Fitness at checkout to get nice discount on your entire order.
The link will be in the description as well as in the pinned. Comments Huge thank you to VRAS for sponsoring the show. It's kind of like also ties into dopamine, right? I would love to go down that road because I've personally found that over the years since I spent more time in nature, I'm less addicted to my tech. I feel like I don't, I'm not like somehow feeling like I need to grab my phone or like, you know, scroll or something like that to raise my dopamine. And I've also noticed that my life has infinitely gotten better.
So my ability to make decisions like it's so much easier right now. And also I find that better opportunities are coming into my life. I mean, again, talking about that spiritual aspect as well, you know, there the, the law of attraction, you know, the electromagnetism, if you want to call it that. Like, how important do you think this like dopamine discussion actually is for people's health? Very, very. Very important. So your body uses sunlight in order to generate dopamine and dopamine is very important for your reward pathways in the brain.
So everything that you do in order to get motivation to do it, you need dopamine. And after you get it done, you you get a hit of dopamine as well. So it's very important for having a mission, for having an objective in life, for pursuing that objective, for having the energy to do that. What's really dangerous these days is what happens is people are living indoors because they're told that the sun is bad for them. And so you live indoor, you have low dopamine. And what's a constant source of low dopamine hits that we have?
It's scrolling, it's the phone. So you're attracted to the phone because it has light, because naturally our body wants to seek light because we know that light makes us feel good, gives us dopamine and other important neurotransmitters. So we, we kind of always have this addiction to the phone. If you add to that the fact that you have low dopamine levels and you're always chasing the next dopamine high. So you get a little bit of a dopamine hit every time you scroll, you start getting addicted to that.
But what this device is doing is that this blue light is actually destroying the dopamine that you have already. So the lower levels of dopamine that you'll get that you have, which are lower than they should be because you're not in the sun, are being destroyed by this addiction that the low dopamine is causing. And so it's just a crazy cycle where people are end up just being stuck to their devices, depleting their dopamine more. And you know, ask anyone who's been on TikTok or been on Instagram for 30 minutes, how do you feel after you've done that?
You feel low dopamine, you have low motivation. You don't want to do anything. You don't want to talk to people. And it's because it's destroyed your dopamine. And the only fix is just those quick fixes that you get from your phone. And this is, this is a really important point for everyone. You know, if you're still at this point where you still have some dopamine in your brain that you still have some a willpower, go outside and put your phone down because this is only going to get you to a level where you become a zombie, Yes.
Yes, such important points for people to understand. Well, as I mentioned to you, like every area of my life has improved because of improving my dopamine levels and I just find that like it is such a spiritual. Process as well, like you feel like you are more in tune with your environment, you're more aware about what's happening around you so you don't feel like you are like almost a slave to the system. So I just kind of feel like obviously as doctor Jack Cruz has mentioned before, like blue lights and non-native EMF's are like this by design because it makes us more easily controllable.
And I fully believe in that because you know, obviously what do we find on tech? We find ads and we find things to buy South. Obviously that makes us great customers, you know, to keep on purchasing more things. But beyond all of this, you know, manipulation aspects, you know, taking it to the health level, it literally ruins every area of people's lives. I've seen like so many people's relationships, like their health, their sleep, their hormones, their energy levels, their motivation for life, their drive, you know, their spark, they they just totally lose it.
And when people start to do a bit of a, what we call a dopamine detox or start to, you know, eliminate the devices from their, then they feel dramatically better. And they just wonder, they just think that it's just because, you know, they put down their phone, but it's just because the what's on on the phone and the blue light itself. Another crazy thing I want to tell you is that, for example, if I go outside on my balcony in the morning and I look at the sunrise, some neighbor may have like a small little like, you know, bright LED light somewhere in the corner of my eye, in my eyes, want to steer like my entire head to look towards that direction.
Do you know why that that's happening? Yeah. I mean it's. Because your brain actually seeks the bright light because it knows that bright light is good for you. Bright light has UV light, it has blue light that makes you aware, that makes you awake. So you're always going towards the the brightest object in the room. And that's the same thing. If there's ATV running in any room, it tends to attract everyone attention because it's the brightest source of light. Yes, all of this cycle, you know, it, it, it takes your attention and then it causes your dopamine to go down.
So it's, it's, it's, it's the most, it's the most brilliant addiction. Do you know if you speak to Doctor Jack Cruz, he says that the people who implant in this know what they're doing. It doesn't, it doesn't make sense. It does make you wonder. And it it is making people stupider and easier to control and less motivated to do things in life. Absolutely. One rule of thumb, which I have, you know, given like to myself is that when I'm doing my tasks in the morning time, because I know that the morning time is literally the most important time for your brain.
Like my brain. OK, Is that functioning? Now for the podcast. It's 5:00 PM here in Cyprus. I'm not the same, Andreas, at 5:00 PM as I am at 10 AM. Like if we did the podcast at 10 AM, I'm sure the way that this podcast would have rolled would have been completely different. I noticed this in myself personally. The podcasts which I do in the AM are infinitely like, more fluent, right? Right now, I'm almost feeling like my brain is kind of like slowing down, you know? So what I was about to say to you was that that I prioritize my tasks which I need to do, which are important.
I try to put off looking at social media for as late as possible into the day because I know that it robs my brainpower, my cognitive function, it steals away my vital energy, which is for that product productivity and the creativity. And I think if you are a high achiever, you know, people who are in business really need to pay attention to this because how many people, you know, get out of bed first thing in the morning and supposingly they look at their e-mail, but then they all of a sudden find themselves on Instagram and then X and then TikTok.
You know, it's this guy like jumping around. And that just totally zaps your energy. And then you don't have motivation to do the things which actually make you a millionaire, which actually matter. You know, exactly you, you. You stop living in your own brain and you're just start becoming receptive to whatever is coming from the outside. And this is how most people live their lives now. But that's not that's not how you build a fulfilling life. Pursue your own mission. Pursue what your own driver is telling you.
Pursue what your own psyche is telling you. It's far. It's far more important than the latest social media trend 1000. Percent. You know, it's so easy to get caught up into. I'll just check my notifications real quick and then you realize half an hour to one hour later you've wasted one hour out of your 24 from that day. It's something pointless. Tell me a little bit what's the issue with Bluetooth earphones? So yes. You know, if you speak to any traditional physician or physicist, they will tell you that there are two types of radiation.
There's ionizing and non ionizing. Ionizing radiation, which tends to be on the the higher frequency part of the electromagnetic spectrum. When your body is exposed to it, it causes electrons to get off your cells and it causes DNA damage to your cells. So that's how X-rays are damaging. Even modern medicine admits that X-rays and gamma rays are detrimental to the body. Non ionizing radiation tends to have less frequency and modern medicine and physics believes that it doesn't have a impact on our biology.
So this really started to change with the work of Doctor Robert Becker and he started his work early in the early 20th century and he found a lot of evidence that these non ionizing radiations are actually affecting biology. Eventually other labs found out that this effect happens through calcium channels. So you know, in our cells, it's very important for us to maintain ion gradients. So in our cells, we have a lot more calcium inside than outside the cells. And that's just the natural way our cells cells operate.
And if you start to mess up with the with the balance of these ions, then all the gradients that you need in order to send signals on the body, those get messed up. And So what what researchers have found is that these non ionizing radiations, even at very low frequency can affect this calcium channel signaling. And so when calcium, when you have higher levels of calcium going into the cells, that causes free radical release and that causes oxidative damage to the cell. So we do know a mechanism of how they affect our biology and Doctor Beckers work started to link these frequencies to so many diseases, including cancer, including to reproductive issues, including diabetes and other health problems.
Unfortunately, because Doctor Becker's work interfered with a lot of military research at that time who were interested in using, you know, all these radio frequencies and stuff for military purposes, his work was shut down significantly and we didn't hear anything about what the research that he did. There's been a lot of research ever since, because since since the last century, the levels of electromagnetic frequencies we're we're exposed to has just multiplied by 10s or hundreds of magnitude.
So we're exposed to so much EMF. But this research continues to be suppressed. And what's suppressing this now is telecom companies, because they have a lot, they benefit a lot from keeping us connected and keeping us those cell towers all over the place. And they don't want an honest discussion of the health effects of these frequencies. Bluetooth is part of that electromagnetic frequencies. And with Bluetooth headphones, you're getting these electromagnetic frequencies right on your ears. And not only is it a very high level there, these two headphones are actually communicating with each other.
So you're getting signals dielectric transmitted through your brain. And so, you know, there's a lot of people that talk about I feel low energy after I put them on. I feel some buzzing in my ears. And all of these are definitely not good for you. And we still don't know what the long term effects of these headphones are, but it's not going to be good. Wow, modern life has created the problem our biology was never designed for. It keeps us stuck in a state of fighting flight. Your biology isn't designed to live there 24/7.

I think it's important to raise the awareness, you know? You know, recently I've been doing some podcasts more on EMF. I think it's such an important subject to talk about just because it's something your naked eye cannot observe, right?
So it's even more important to raise the awareness about the subject where it's something which is attacking you or is a is a stressor to your body where it's non-native. So therefore your body doesn't understand it. It's non-native to our biology, non-native to our planet. Who knows what it's doing to the animals, you know, never mind. You know us as well. I mean, obviously the inverse square law is, is very powerful, right? The closer you are to the source of radiation, the bigger the problem.
And obviously the duration and the intensity matters as well. I think a really big issue as well is the fact that people are not grounding. Do you want to maybe tell me about the implications or the consequences of people not ground? Yes. So I mean, a simple way to look at this is we, we said you have a, you have an energy field in your cells that melanin generates. So you're exposed to energy from light or even from invisible light. And this splits water and creates an energy field inside your cell.
This energy field is, you know, it's from nature, it is powered by nature. When you're out grounding, the, you allow this electric field to get bigger, to get stronger. The more separated from nature you are, the weaker this field gets. And you know, it's brilliant biology that the field is strengthened by exposure to the earth as natural magnetic field because, you know, we are from the earth and we, we've we've evolved with this earth. Grounding is a big part of how you can circumvent the damage from Emfs because it allows you to strengthen that electric field that you have in the cells.
At the same time, if you're exposed to too much EMF. He did not grow up. Our biology did not evolve exposed to these foreign frequencies. And so that dampens that electric fields and makes it weaker. So every decision you make in your life is something that's either strengthening this electric field or weakening it. The closer you are to nature, the stronger this electric field gets, and the better your mitochondria run, the better everything runs in your body, the more separated from nature you are.
If you're under artificial light, if you're not grounding, if you're not eating the right food, this weakens the electric field. So to. Understand this a little bit deeper. When you say the field, are you talking about every individual cell has its own field, so. That's how it starts, but. But then, you know, all these fields get together and it becomes you, your entire, you're a energetic being. You're a bowl of energy. And so, yeah. That's amazing that that. Kind of explains how on a deep level, on a deep level, you know you are a collection of cells, but how do these collection of cell become you?
Well, that's how this electric field powers your entire body and connects with each other. And yeah, and that, that, that that's what creates your psyche and creates yourself. And the purpose of this self is a it's a manifestation of the divine in you that allows you to connect with nature and allows nature to see in it. It's wow. Well, I love. That so that was amazing. And So what would you say like the purpose of the field is like, you know that the cell, I'm sure the cell doesn't randomly generate this field.
The field is generated from the production of energy in the cell. Or is it generated like by melanin itself? And what is the role of this field? Like what is its function in the in the body? Yeah, so the function of. This field is it's what we call human photosynthesis. So just like plants use light energy in order to create water, that's what we do. We use energy to split water, and that creates an electric field that enables us to convert light energy into electric energy to power the cells. And this electric field is what allows your biochemistry to run.
So all your enzymes require this electric fields in order to be in the right shape, to perform the right reactions, in order to breakdown food, in order to create more cells, in order to create reproductive cells so that you can reproduce, in order so that you can see your partner, you can be attracted to your partner. And that's how life propagates. And it's the most beautiful thing in the world, understanding how brilliant this biology runs. Would you say that also? Like light itself contributes to this field through melanin because you talked about the grounding contributing to this field with the light.
Sunlight itself contribute to this field as well. Yeah, so. Melanin, the signal that it gets that enables it to split water is Melanin is a light pigment, it absorbs light. So the best source of energy for melanin is sunlight. That's what we've grown up to, that's what we've evolved under. It depends on sunlight in order to generate this electric field doesn't necessarily mean it requires sunlight. You can still do it in the dark and in the dark, how do you get that? Well, we are surrounded by energy, all sorts of energy.
You know, it's in the plasma form. So around this in space, it's all plasma, it's all charged gases and melanin can tap into that energy and create the electric field the powers the cell. And so light is very important. The light that you're exposed to it should be natural light. If you can't get sunlight indoors, you can use incandescent bulbs. Those are closer to, you know, the light spec, the natural spectrum of the sun. You can use candlelight. And the problem with artificial blue light is it it's an unnatural frequency.
So melanin does absorb it, but it doesn't make melanin run as smoothly as it would like. So you're not getting the entire spectrum if you're just getting blue light. And so that makes this entire energy generation process less efficient. And also when you pair, when blue light is not paired by the cooling red and infrared light, that causes, you know, free radical damage and that starts to mess up with how your mitochondria are able to generate energy. Wow, you mentioned. Cooling. So you're saying that the the red and infrared has a cooling effect?
It's compared to blue light. Yes, Blue light is very high, very high frequency, very high energy compared to the red light which is more calming energy rather than say cooling. And you need both of those in working together in order for your melanin to function properly, in order for your cytochromes in your cell membranes, in the mitochondrial, also in the mitochondrial membranes to operate properly. So it's a very fine balance that you need both. And if you are just under artificial light, artificial blue light all day, you're not getting that fine balance.
Same happens if you're on the red light, like if you're living on the red light panel all day, That's also not ideal for your biology. It might be helpful for, you know, helping an acute condition if you have some pain somewhere in the joint or something. But it's not it's not the natural way. Your body is evolved. It wants the entire spectrum. Wow. Well, yeah, I. Think that's an important nuance like to you know to bring to awareness because as as you know technology is improving and people are getting more and more into biohacking and using more of this tech in their life.
They think it's like a substitute for the real thing when in reality it literally a supplement just as the name supplement means to add in addition to your diet. It doesn't mean to replace your diet, right? It's to put something back in which is missing from your life. And of course, the most ideal thing is to get go back to the source, you know, because if we think about satellite, you know how powerful it is. Imagine, imagine how many red light therapy panels it would make to make it feel like as if you are exposed to sunlight, You know, you know, especially in the middle of the day.
If you think about it in the summer, how hot it can be. Is all of that red and infrared light shining down. Do you think that like UV light, does it have like a heating element to it? Or is it primarily the the red and the infrared, which makes us feel hot in the summer? No, I mean UV does have. Does have a heating effect and that's why it feels a lot hotter at noon for UV. And this is a very interesting discussion where Doctor Jack Cruz talks about whether there is actually a role for UV light or whether it's, you know, we'll do well enough with this, with the red and infrared.
And I tend to agree with him that, you know, the UV light is also very important. And yes, you know, you can test that for yourself. The morning sunlight feels great. The evening sunlight also feels great. But you kind of need a little bit of the day's daylight also. That kind of just completes the entire balance. You don't need to spend all day outside at noon. You know, just listen to your body. When you feel hot, go under the shade, get in the water, you know, take a shower. It's your body knows what it wants.
Listen to your body. Imagine a tablet that. Doesn't blast artificial blue light into your eyes, disrupt your sleep or sabotage your health, but actually use the sunlight to power the display? If you've been listening to this podcast, you already know how damaging constant artificial blue light can be on your circadian rhythm, your sleep, and your overall health. That's why I love my Paper 7 tablet by Harborino. It's definitely one of the most interesting devices I've used in a while. The Paper 7 tablet uses something called an RLCD display, which means there is no backlight and essentially no blue light.
Instead, it reflects ambient light just like paper. So the brighter your environment, the better the screen looks. And unlike E Ink devices, which are slow and stuck in black and white, this gives you full color, a smooth 60 Hertz refresh rate, and the ability to run all of your favorite apps. It also comes with 8 gigabytes of RAM for smooth performance, a 7.8 inch display that's perfect for both reading and productivity. And at only 240 grams, it's easy to carry around anywhere. The battery life holds up really well too.
You're getting around 10 hours of active use and up to 12 days on standby, so you're not constantly thinking about charging it. For me personally, I like to use it a lot for writing, researching, and preparing for my podcasts, basically all of my administrative work. And the best part is I can do all of that outdoors in natural light so I can actually support my biology while I work instead of fighting against it. And because the screen gets brighter in brighter environments, it's incredibly easy on the eyes, even in direct sunlight.
I've also noticed that it naturally improves my nighttime habits because indoors, especially at night, the screen isn't overly bright or stimulating since it uses your environment, the power of the display, so it kind of guide you towards better sleep hygiene and healthier circadian rhythms without even trying. At the end of the day, technology isn't going anywhere, so the goal is to find tools that work with our biology, not against it, and this is definitely one of those devices. You definitely want to hurry up and grab yours today as they are extremely popular and run out of stock really fast.
The link will be in the description below alongside with the 15% discount code I think people. Override that, right, because they think that just because they are wearing, you know, putting sunscreen on their skin, they magically think that they can just layout in the sun all day without any melanin. But just because they have this like toxic stuff on their skin, they somehow magically think that they are protected and they are avoiding all rules of nature pretty much, you know. And then when you break nature's rules, well, obviously you pay the price.
Because I see so many people who are wearing sunscreen and they spend all day in the sun and they still get burnt even when they with the sunscreen on, you know, because they are laying so many hours. Out in the more than their biology is able to handle because they didn't build that melanin in advance. So it's so important to build your own endogenous production of like sunscreen protection because it doesn't only do that, but it also helps you, you know, with all the other things that you just mentioned throughout this entire episode so far with the energy production of the cells and and so on.
Maybe let's shift directions a little bit towards cholesterol, because I think this is an important topic for people. Why do you think people have high collection? Yeah, a very good question. So I mean what? High cholesterol is is based on definitions that were created in order to sell medications to in order to sell statins, the highest selling drug class in history. So I wouldn't be concerned about your cholesterol levels. It's basically a scam that was generated in order to sell medications. How did this entire issue start?
Well, in the 1950s there was an alarming increase of heart disease in the US and in the western world. So all the top researchers started looking into what is causing this increase in heart disease. 1 researcher by the name of Ansel Keys published the studies where he where he found that countries with higher rate of heart disease tended to eat more saturated fat. He called this country the seven country study and since then everyone started blaming saturated fat and animal fats on the increase in rates of heart disease.
Later Keys admitted that he emitted studies emitted countries from his study that did not fit his model. So basically he had selected the countries in order to fit that model and people started using that to vilify animal fat, that eating animal fat is bad for you. And then in the 1960s and 70s, there was a study called the Framingham study that was done in Massachusetts that looked at Framingham was like a healthy community. And they looked at the rates of disease and some blood markers for people.
And they saw that people with lower cholesterol tended to have less risk of heart disease. So this was the beginning of the studies. But later when they followed them up, they found that the people with the lower cholesterol actually had higher mortality. So even that data was defective. That preliminary data, however, was taken over by the Pharmaceutical industry who at that time discovered statins, the cholesterol lowering medications, and they jumped on this and they blamed everything on cholesterol.
And the solution to heart disease is those statins. Well, those statins not only lower your cholesterol levels, but they also block something called the Meval malevonate pathway in the body that is very important for generating all sorts of compounds for your body, including for your mitochondria, including for the ability of the mitochondria to generate energy. So these drugs are completely disastrous and the fight against cholesterol is completely unwarranted and it's led to disastrous consequences in the body.
Why our cholesterol levels could go up and why that might be a marker. Well, again, if the cell energy field in the cell, the melanin generated energy field is not operating properly, the body kind of goes into hyperdrive where we're not getting enough energy. So it must be because, you know, we're not making enough raw material. So the way the liver thinks about it is I'm not getting that much energy, which it's because I'm not getting enough sunlight. So maybe I need to make more cholesterol in order to repair things in order to ramp my metabolism up.
So that that could be a reason why people's cholesterol go up when they get unhealthy. But again, the answer to that is not taking cholesterol lowering medication is to reconnect with nature in order for this energy generation process to become more efficient again and. Because we know that cholesterol is required for vitamin D production when people take statins, does that make people's ability to produce vitamin D non existent? Yes, it affects. Our ability to generate all hormones, Vitamin D is a hormone, and it affects our ability to generate sex hormones too.
So people get lower testosterone, lower estrogen and progesterone because of it. And it's quite disastrous for people. You know, people are put on a statin and they start feeling weak and tired and, you know, their doctor just blames it on aging. But the actual cause is that you're not, you're not generating hormones as well as you should. Oh, absolutely. I've seen. This around me, you know in family members, like anybody who I know who takes statin instantly they say that they feel this muscle weakness they feel tired you know lethargic they don't have energy and dry.
I guess also because the cells as well they're made-up of fats as well, right. So does it interfere interfere with the membrane of the? Yes, it's it's directly. Toxic to fats in the cell membranes in this our body. So so it affects your ability to generate energy in the cells. Well, talk to me a little. Bit about because I'm really interested about this subject about chromophores within the mitochondria, you know these key enzymatic steps for people who are listening within the mitochondria that you know these five enzymatic steps and they absorb specific wavelengths of light.
Each one absorbs a specific wavelength of light. And I'm just wondering does the sunlight reach all the way to the mitochondria stimulating the chromophore or is the, is the body utilizing melanin to, you know, convert the photonic energy into these bio photons in the mitochondria and then they are getting, you know, stimulating those chromophore in the mitochondria. Yeah, I mean, I, I think. From my understanding is that both happen. Both happen and it depends on the environment that you're living in.
If you have enough sunlight coming from the outside, you don't need to generate that many photons internally. But if you live in a darker winter, a longer, colder winter than your body's ability to generate those photons of light is, is more necessary. And so that's these photons can be generated by your body can use several things to do that. One of the things it uses is cold exposure. So if you're in the cold, if you're exposed to the cold, your body generates infrared light in order to heat your cells.
And while doing that, it also generates red and UV light, which helps activates those chromophores in your cells. So it's quite, quite an incredible mechanism where your body is capable of adapting to different light environments depending on where you are. The reason why most people these days feel better when they're out in more tropical or very sunlight heavy environment is our ability to generate these ultra weak photons in our cells is unfortunately compromised by the fact that we're exposed to electromagnetic frequencies.
So if you're in a cold environment where there's not that much sunlight, you're unable to generate these photons as well as you should be because of the EMF and the blue light. And so that's why it's becoming more and more important for people to be in a place rich in sunlight. And yeah, I mean, there are certain people with diseases that, you know, won't be fixed if you continue to be in your low light environment living, you know. And so these are things to keep in mind. Biology is very capable of adapting to all sorts of atmospheres.
You know, humans, beings have lived in every spot of this Earth. But it's it's a lot more difficult to optimize that when you're living under constant EMF exposure. Everybody knows about vitamin. C But have you ever heard about vitamin G? I'm talking about grounding. We know that oxygen is important for our survival, but what if I told you that grounding is just as foundational for our health? Your body is literally a battery and needs to be recharged every single day. Modern life depletion, fatigue, insomnia, brain fog, and restlessness.
These all sound like a charge deficiency to me. You see, grounding is not optional, it's foundational. This is why I make sure to get my bare feet on the ground every single day and to ensure that I stay grounded 24/7 like our ancestors did. I use my favorite grounding sheet as I sleep to keep me connected to the earth at all times. Check out my favorite grounding mats and sheets that I use on a daily basis by heading over to the description below. Doctor Amos, I really this conversation. Thank you so much. Is there any last words of wisdom that you'd like to leave the audience with before we closeout the Yeah, Yeah. Thank you for. Having me I mean just, you know, it's there's a lot of quantum biology it's it's quite a dense field there's a lot to learn, but you know the important thing to keep in mind is just realign your body with nature eat natural foods be out in the sunlight, avoid artificial light doing all these simple things will go a very long way.
You don't need to know all the theories and all the science of it. Just do what feels right for your body and you know, avoid the modern medical system as much as you can because that is only going to harm you and reconnect with nature and avoid the medical system is my advice. Nice, nice and. What was your slogan on Twitter? Your your slogan. My slogan is I try. To get people healthy without. Pills. Yes, exactly. Yeah, Going back to the roots, you know, it's not like people have a pill deficiency, right?
Or medication deficiency. Of course we're not. We're not giving medical advice here. If you think about it, as human beings, before we had pills, what did we have? We had nature. And, you know, human beings have figured out how to use nature as medicine. And actually, most medicine is derived from compounds, from nature, or at least mimic in synthetic form their molecular structure. Where can people find you, connect with you and work with you if they wish to do? Yes. I mean, I'm most active. On Twitter at Amos, MD, I also have an Instagram with the same handle.
I have my website amosmd.com where I offer a free newsletter and people can can reach out to me there and ioffer online consultations for those interested. Nice nice. I will make sure. To put your links in the description below so people can find you. Thank you so much for coming on and of course, I'd love to have you back on in the future. You're a real wealth of knowledge and you're doing a great service to the world. So thank you so much and please stay on the line when I end the. Thank you for having me if you guys.
Enjoy the topics. And guests I bring on the show, I would really appreciate if you left me a five star review on Spotify and subscribe to Fitness Wisdom podcast on YouTube as well. This helps us spread the knowledge and wisdom with the world. Until next time.
