This is the Fitness Wisdom Podcast.
Don Debone, author of Radiant Nation and founder of Defender Shield. Thank you for coming on the Fitness Wisdom Podcast. Andrea, thanks so much for inviting me. I'm excited about chatting with your audience. This is a very important discussion and a very important subject, as you know, right? And your whole life is literally revolved around this. And you're literally the author of Radiation Nation. I think my audience really loves this subject because it's it's a threat. It's I would call it sort of like an environmental toxin, right?
Which is invisible to the naked eye. And that's why it's so problematic. Do you want to maybe tell the audience what that toxin actually is? I'm I'm happy you're talking about it as a toxin. It's one of many toxins in our environment and it is a stressor to the human body. And it could be a simple stress or very complex stress depending on the circumstances. So thank you for inviting me. I, I have actually, we wrote Radiation Nation several years ago because we were frustrated. We were frustrated that so many people were looking for information about what it is electromagnetic radiation, what do we know about electromagnetic radiation and what we can do about it.
So there was not at the time very much guidance in the public eye. And certainly our governments didn't seem to have that on the forefront of their agendas to sort of make clear for the uses of technology. So probably 15 years, a little bit more ago, my, my sons were visiting me. They're adult men and they had their laptops in their lap. And they said, my wife said, I want grandchildren. You keep it in your lap too long. And she was in social sciences. And how did she, you know that I said to her, look, I've been in the electronics industry for many, many years and the power levels that who loaded both of you the human body.
Because I was in Bell Labs, I wrote standards for these things. I, I actually evaluated technology when I was in Bell Labs. So I said, I, I don't believe that there's any real concern, but because we're sort of scientific oriented, I decided to take a look a little bit about is there a real problem from a medical point of view? And I'm a mechanical engineer, but I could try to sort of understand that subject. And even back then the, the, the sulfa, a laptop on your lap after three to four hours immobilized up to 1225% of the male sperm.
And it was also data that was pretty significant, which was a female has roughly 2% of her groin area that's impacted by tumors, of which a few of that percent actually become cancerous. So we know a lot about it, it seemed, but the public didn't know a lot about it. And so we wrote Radiation Nation as a way of providing a little bit of guidance for the listening audits. And, and you are the architect of your own destiny and your health. You need to decide what you consider important in your life, even from a health point of view.
1000% yeah. Oh, that's a that's a very inspiring story. So is that actually how you go into founding Defender Shield and coming up with EMF mitigation shielding protection solutions? Is it because of this spark, you know that happened, you know where you started with the book? Or was it something else that led you to down this road? Actually, after my wife said that I want grandchildren and we found some evidence that there was actually some concern and there were scientific studies that indicated there was an impact to the human body.
I, I decided to go into my basement and get materials, develop materials that I thought would be shielding what. And when I did that, I had to worry about the radio frequency signals, the cell phone radiation, the Wi-Fi radiation. But it was also true that you need to worry about the electricity in your walls. That's extremely low frequency emissions, and so we had to combine technologies to try to shield that out. So after my wife said that, I actually created a prototype and I said, boys here use this.
I didn't think anybody would use it, but I knew my boys would use it. Well, their friends sort of decided they'd like to have something that's similar that protects them. And then their friends wanted some protection like my son's. And all of a sudden I was in the business of building Defender Shield, the vendor pads. And we actually named the company the vendor pads at the time because we said look, if we can sell 1000 of them or in business if we don't or a failure. Turned out we sold 1000 units.
And that was the started Defender, the Defender Shield. It started, yes, it started as a concern for my children. So I guess before we go any deeper, do you want to maybe like discuss about the different sources of EMF, where they come from and maybe the description of what EMF actually is like how is it produced so people really understand the mechanism? Sure. So think of it this, you have at the tip of your finger, there's an antenna and I'm going to send it RF signal. An RF signal is a radio frequency signal.
It's what's used in transmitting AM radio, FM radio, but slightly faster rates. And when your cell phone, your Wi-Fi, your laptop, your any electronic devices communicating with other devices are using typically an RF signal. And when the transmitter of your cell phone transmits a tiny ball, starts at the and builds up, builds a builder, it's known as an omnidirectional signal. It goes everywhere around you. And so that is typically using a rate, a frequency rate, and in this case, one frequency rate.
One frequency rate is one cycle per second. And that's how you determine frequency rate. Well, when you're using a laptop or cell phone, it's about on gigahertz, 1 billion cycles per second. So in one second a billion things go by you. And so, and that actually becomes sort of an important to know because if we have chance to talk about 5G, then the next generation talks about much faster rates and we, there are implications to that. So that's typically what's coming out of your cell phone. A roughly 1 gigahertz Bluetooth is about 2.4 gigahertz.
So you'll, you'll hurt, you've heard of Bluetooth and that's a communications bath, which is doesn't go quite as far because the power levels are much less, but they're an RF signal. So we have that. And if you go on beyond that, that rate up to beyond the, the, the 10 gigahertz, which is typically where the RF signals are today, you get into light and, and light is blue light, which is a natural from the sun emission. But it's not so natural when it's on the screen of your monitor and it's producing a, a signal that is going into your eye.
That's, and we'll talk a little bit about that movement. That is a signal that can damage macula, for example. And so you have that. And then beyond that, we get into the terahertz space. And that 10 terahertz is trillions of cycles per second. That's where X-rays are. Gamma rays are much faster rates and as many know, when you have a X-ray, it can actually change the makeup of the cell. It actually takes the electron around the neutron and it and it literally knocks us out of its orbits. That's why they call it ionized radiation.
And everything else that I've talked about is non ionizing radiation. And there's the misnomer that says ionized radiation is dangerous, non ionizing radiation is not. Well, that's not true at all. The mechanics of breakdown are very different for both. And so finally in all that discussion, we talk about the wall. You have the electricity in your wall that's 300 Hertz or less. So it's a very low end of the micro of the the frequency rate scale. And so that in itself can be dangerous if you live next to a high wire in front of your house, those are 8000 Watt channels dangerous if you live close by and that would've known for years and years and years.
So it's the ELF which is the the electronics in your wall. There's the RF, which by the way, is also microwave. And when you talk about microwave, what is it you're talking about? And I'm going to get to a conclusion here in a second. When you heat up the water in a cell in your microwave oven, it oscillates the cells and it goes faster and faster and faster and it cooks the meat you have. Well, an RF signal is a microwave signal. So it's known as a thermal signal. It's known that it increases the thermal conditions of the of the device that it hits, like when you use a phone to your head stand is protected by only allowing the strength of a signal to allow you to heat your head by 2° and penetrate your head by one to two inches.
And so there's standards that were made 30 years ago on microwave signals that are outdated, much more outdated. And we'll talk a little bit about that. Do you want to go down that rabbit hole for us? Do you want to expand on that? Like why you haven't been updated? So in the US over 30 some odd years ago, the FCC, the federal Commission, they established the standard that said you can't transmit more power than 1.6 watts per kilogram watts in an area. It can't, it can't transmit higher power than 1.6 watts.
And the reason why you can't do that is because we'll restrict the human body restricts the temperature not to exceed 2° and not to enter one to two inches. So that standard was defined based on Army 6 foot mills. So which are by the way, fixed gold. They don't listen and they, they, they define the standard of resistance of the human head of a six foot male. And that's why it's sort of outdated because it represents that standard that we created represents about 3% of the population using cell phones today, women, children, teenagers, everyone has a different penetration rate.
And so our standard is for six foot male, but 97% of people using it are not 6 foot males. And so there is, as you know, precautionary marriages used to think about when you start thinking about using a cell phone close to your head. Yeah. And then you mentioned something in person previously about the thermal and I think the non thermal effects, I think that the non thermal effects as well are not discussed enough, right, Because the science loves to talk about just the heating aspect that being like problematic.
But what about the non thermal? Like do you want to maybe tell us like some of the non thermal effects, what actually goes on in the body when we are exposed to these electromagnetic fields? I love your question because because for the last 30 years there is almost 0 research on the thermal impact of an RF signal. Everything you're hearing, by and large, is biological impacts. And what do I mean by biological impacts? Well, the cell, when it is confronted with a stressor, the RF stressor of a cell phone, it reacts.
It's a biological reaction to that cell. In fact, what it begins doing is not communicating to the other cells as if it shouldn't be. The mechanics of of that you typically have when the bodies in stress, which is where you have free radicals and antioxidants imbalance, which is an oxygenation problem that begins creating those in imbalances in your body and you have oxidative stress. I don't like using the word oxidative stress because we know so much more about the impact of an RF signal that it the oxidative stress only talks about 1 implication.
We're going to talk a little bit further about that, but a quick note is that roughly 20 years ago, 15, maybe 20% of the population we had was electric, hypersensitive, Another word. When they were confronted with a mic, a signal, using a cell phone or they're sitting next to a router, they would have a feeling, they could have a psychological feeling that was going on, a neurological feeling that was going on, some tingling in their eyes, their ears maybe were ringing. They couldn't sleep at night.
There's so many vast symptoms associated with it that that it can debilitate your body. And in electric, hypersensitive space, as I said, 15 to 20 percent 1520 years ago, well, I'm now seeing research that talks about it as much as 40 to 50%. And so the more we see cell phones coming into our lives and our laptops and our tablets all sitting next to us, we have this inundated stressor around our human bodies that never existed. When I was in Bell Labs, for example, we had electronics that were huge and they had huge transmitting sources for our signals and electric hypersensitive signals from ELF, extremely low frequency signals, right?
But I was 200 feet away from it. Fast forward today, I have more than the mainframe power in my laptop and tablet and cell phone, all next to my body. And so they're transmitting. And it didn't exist 20 years ago because all of a sudden it's so much a part of our lives. I think you touched upon there was something important was about the distance. Do you want to maybe go into the inverse square law if you know about it? That's a wonderful question, Andres. The distance in the RF space, the microwave space is our friend.
When you take a cell phone and you put it on top of your head and it's directly transmitting, that's the worst case. It's the closest to the the brain that you can get. And so 100% of that emission is going into your body. When you talk about going one to two foot away, something like 80% of that danger is gone by 90. It goes to 98 at 4 foot. So the farther away you are, the more safe your body is. And so simple precautionary actions are Simply put it away from you and you won't have that influence of other than our signal to human body.
So the inverse squares, it's an engineering law. So you're safe. And by the way, you're more safe if you turn it off. You're more safe if you put it in the other room. You know, simple things can reduce. In fact, Andreas, I talk about is sort of the problem with the our environment, our ambient, what's around us in our in our rooms, in our office. And I talk about it in terms of bees. If you have one bee in a room, likely if not allergic, you won't die if you get stung. But if you have 1000, you may be in serious trouble.
Thousand bees killed. And so the idea is to remove those devices like a cell phone. When you have a cell phone on, there's a Wi-Fi transmitter, a Bluetooth transmitter, a RF transmitter, and a GPS transmitter. They're all transmitted. They're separately transmitting. I don't use all those. I just used the RF signal to the cell phone tower and so in that case I turned the I'm off. All of a sudden 2/3 of my local environment is reduced now because I don't have that exposure. So simply manage your environment and putting things away from you is keeps you pretty safe.
Also, it's true that if you if you got on a cell phone and you were on for a couple of minutes, you're fine. It's unlikely anything really ultimately in your frontal lobe will be impacted because the duration of time is also important. You want to make sure the duration is something that you watch. If you want to reduce exposures, reducing duration of use or the exposure is important. And so if you use a cell phone 32 to three hours a day, you're considered a heavy user. And the statistics of science tells us after 10 years, you're three times more likely to get frontal cancer discipline studies that have been done over the past years of my own studies.
So, you know, so you got to watch your use or how you do it. In fact, you're using earbuds, you're eliminating RF signal to your human body if you were using your earphones, voice for with a cell phone and so simple things like that have pretty big significant importance. Yes, I actually wanted to mention a personal story that I noticed that, you know, in the past when I used to live in Finland and I used to go on the metro, which was like under the ground. And sometimes I had to answer a phone call and I had to bring it up to my ear because it was so loud.
I couldn't hear anything. Because normally I prefer to always, you know, be on speakerphone and have my phone like down here, you know, always going to have my phone call. So I don't care where I am. I'm in public wherever I am, it's always on loudspeaker. But in some obviously situations where you have to answer, you know, I'll bring it up to the phone. And even just for having it one minute on my ear, I would notice that after the phone call was over that my ear would feel like more blocked, like more closed.
Because I'm very in tune with my body, you know, and I can, I know how I feel. So I knew how I felt before and how I felt after. So I'm very much aware about this subject and it's a very serious subject and I can totally see how people with chronic use, it can lead to some severe like, consequences and symptoms in the cell not being able to function correctly. Do you want to add anything to this before we move on? Yeah. I do. One thing science research studies have lacked is specs specifics about axis points through the ear of RF, Axis points through the eye with RF, axis points to the nose with RF.
Why is that sort of important? Well, the, the the RF signal goes into a micro vascular eye and it actually impacts the eye and it deteriorates the eye. Doctor Brown from the Environmental Health Trust recently released a report on his findings and says that's a more susceptible area to go with an RF signal. So it's not just the blue light, blue light goes through your eye when you're looking at a monitor and it goes to the macula, the back of the eye. And some call it premature macular degeneration where it declines quicker than the age-related macular decline.
And so these are now access points directly to the frontal lobe, which makes it even more concerning if it hits your hand, I really don't care about it hitting your hand. Why? Because nothing's going to happen. But it was through your eye is very different. So with ears, there's actually brain stem control of of ears including inside there's a vagus nerve as well, the vagus nerve that operates around your body that's actually impacted when you have an RF signal sitting close to those. Spaces on you out of body.
So you've got to be careful because we do have growing science that talks about the negative side or the negative implications of these kinds of signals around our body. Oh yeah, everything you said that so, so accurate. Like I have direct experience with all those things. I mean, I noticed that when I've because I obviously my work involves being online a lot, right? And I try to mitigate that and protect myself as much as I can. I try to do my work outside in sunlight, grounded, you know, with my bare feet on the ground.
I try to take as many actions as I can. But unfortunately there is still a lot of RF signals going on because my all of my devices are not hardwired. So of course, if they were hardwired, that would be another story. But because, you know, I'm working, Yeah, I'm working with my phone, you know, like in on the beach, for example. You know, I'm not going to be able to hardwire my phone to the Internet. So if I Yeah. So if I'm going to do that, I want to enjoy the environment and ground at the same time.
Yes, I'm mitigating some of the damage by building my redox potential, but I notice for example if I'm wearing my blue light blockers at night and I have to look at my phone or do something my my red lens blue light blockers to block 100% of the blue light. My eyes still get sore even with wearing the red lens blue light blocking glasses. And I know it's because of the Emfs, because obviously the glasses don't block the EMS. And I would love it. I would love it if somebody came out with blue light blocking glasses that block EMF as well.
I don't know, maybe some kind of, you know, shielding net chicken Nets or something, you know, across them or something. I don't know, maybe maybe you guys could come out with it. I think that would be an absolute seller. Yeah. And with your eyes, by the way in I'm, I'm jumping now because you reminded me while we were talking that blue light going into the eye is deteriorating the eye, but it's also influencing biological response. And so when you have a a blue light at night, when you're looking at a iPad, blue lights going into your eye, there is a protein in the back of the eye that basically senses when the lights on and when the lights are off.
It's a Chrome protein, they call it. And it's the little switch that actually allows you to have the switch turned on. So you have the melatonin penetrating your body. So if you're looking at a monitor and you decide to go to sleep and then you put your laptop down or your tablet down and you don't go to sleep quickly enough, it's because the cryptochrome protein didn't turn that little switch on. So I always I always recommend at least an hour before you decide to go to sleep, take that blue light source and move it outside because it is affecting your sleep.
1000% Do you want to talk about the differences between the the short term effects of Emfs and the long term effects? Do you know any research or anything that has been shown short term symptoms versus long term effects that people are experiencing? So when I began in this space, we became the lightning rod for everyone who had electric hypersensitivity because they'd go to a doctor and they'd have these unknown symptoms, burning sensations, foggy thinking. There was a lot of related symptoms associated with these exposures, and so believe it or not, at that time I didn't see many people actually recovering.
It actually became worse and worse and worse for them, not better, because there wasn't really understanding of really what needed to be done to do that recovery. Well, and as you know, believe it or not, circadian rhythm is pretty important. It's, it's, it sets the body for active during the day, recovery during the night. Mitochondrial repair recovers at night. So when you disrupt the circadian space, which typically in RF typically does for the hypersensitive, then you need to go after the spaces of healthy living, healthy exercise, healthy eating.
Don't eat after 6:00 at night. The body's still digesting its food and it's hot and that disrupts the circadian rhythm. So there's a lot of things we're learning, particularly we have we deal with some clinics, Doctor Court and Jonette Bessemer, their partners in a clinic that they actually are concentrating only on like a electric hypersensitive. And in a severe case they had, they had a person walk in and came in in a wheelchair. They had lost the capacity to balance their body. They couldn't balance their body because everything was so disrupted in their body.
So they started getting the patient into the things I just spoke about and there began a recovery. So, so we have actually seen the medical community beginning to step up to the problems of and by the way, this is like multiple chemical sensitivity. If you go to Europe, everyone thinks that multiple chemical sensitivity is real. You come to the US and they don't think it's real bodies reacting the same way to an RF signal as a micro, the chemical sensitivity. In fact almost 95% or so have some of the symptoms of RF exposure have the same symptoms when they smell gas or perfume.
Believe it or not, the body mechanics are similar in the response to those toxins, those stressors that occur in the body. And one of the things that actually highlights a lot of what this is, is the clinics are beginning to understand you have to remove the, the stressors for the body to recover. And if you're not grounding, if you're not eating right, if you're not sleeping right, you don't recover. And that's brings me to, I've been following Doctor Navio. Dr. Navio is out in California. He's a researcher MD and he talks about the recovery, the, the, the, the environment of the stressors and the removal of the stressors so they can go stages of recovery.
And he's done brilliant work on how it's important to take a stressor out of that environment. Or if you don't, you don't recover. And so I just thought about it. When you use a cell phone to your head. Ollie Johansson, Doctor Ollie Johansson, he was a he. I love the guy. He talked about like your hypersensitivity. He also talked about immune response. He also talked about the blood brain barrier response. He talked about how the blood brain barrier itself is suppressed with an RF signal. So when you're using it time and time again, you're talking about the potential dangers to the frontal lobe.
And is that a problem? Well, I saw research that shows on the average brain cancers are the same as they were 30 years ago. But if you look at the data closely, the frontal lobe has been growing 2% compounding every year for 10 years. So is that from the cell phone use or not? I don't know. But I can tell you for sure I've seen science and research that shows. I remember I told you 1.6 Watt per kilogram is the standard. Well, it's also true that .1 watts, which is roughly a Bluetooth signal power level, has been shown to mutate a frontal lobe cell, so it does not take much to influence that cell.
Yeah, yeah, interesting stuff. Yeah. And I guess what you mentioned previously about the consistency, right, Like in the amount of time, it's like, OK, you may have something which is very low power density, but then at the same time it's right next to your brain, it's right in your ear. And those are communicating from one to another and then sending the signal from and back and forward from your phone. And whenever wherever that phone is stuck in your body as well is, you know, radiating either your balls or your ovaries or you know, wherever you have your phone set up, you know, with your, with your RF, you know, your 5G, your Bluetooth, maybe you've got your navigation on your GPS on.
So the sources are like so many, right? And it's no reason to like be exposed to so many sources. Do you want to maybe tell me though, because obviously like the earphones that I'm wearing, they're air tubes, right? So there is air like traveling up this tube. So the sound only comes to this low point down here. Well, obviously that means that wired headphones also have a problem if you have come up with this kind of invention, right? So why? Why is this better than regular wired earphones? OK. So I am personally committed to eliminating where I can in my environment exposures that I don't need to have.
If you use a cell phone in your hand and you're a foot or so away as we talked, 80% of the dangers are gone, Well, that's good. If you plug in headsets and it's wired all the way up, it's going past the thyroid, it's going past going up to the the head. There's a lot of places in which there's a low level of exposure at these levels, which is better than it to your head, but not the best. SO years ago, what I decided was I need to develop a high fidelity acoustical coupling between the speaker and the headset and your ear, eliminate any potential power being exposed on the upper part of your body.
And so we actually went out and took me over a year to create high quality, very safe earbuds that actually are good for listening to your music, listening to your podcasts. But it's also keeps you safe and in that conversation is one thing I'll talk about a little bit. I do like to use that time to do that. Now when you have these things you put in your ear and it uses the Bluetooth to connect to your cell phone, is that good? No, because you're talking about duration. You're talking about transmission duration, which over time, as we've spoke, if the heavy use there is known implications of cancer.
But the other thing is when you listen to stereo, it's sometimes between both of the units. And so that's not good. It's going right through your frontal lobe so you can listen to the stereo. So I don't recommend these kinds of things, particularly with kids. For example, I didn't fully understand about the wired earphones. Is are they wired earphones acting like an antenna, for example? Let's for example talk about ambient environment that you already discussed. Imagine you've got many 5G towers around your Wi-Fi, maybe electric fields, magnetic fields from whatever.
Are those wired earphones attracting those fields and then it's going up to your brain, or is it actually coming from the phone itself? Well, actually it turns out it can act as an antenna in these earbuds that you have there. We actually have a jacket on the wiring, so we absorb anything that's going out or coming in. So it does not go into your acoustical component of the signal. But in general, when you have power, energy that runs through a piece of wire, a byproduct of that is an emission, electromagnetic emission.
It has an electrical compound and a low mechanical magnetic component of it. So there is a low level of emissions that's occurring when it goes up with them. So they're pretty good, but they're also, you know, our goal is to try to eliminate it completely as a problem for the for the person. I know I really love these air tubes. Actually. They're super high quality. I mean, the sound is is absolutely incredible. So yeah, like I salute you for that. So then does basically does the does the sound come up to this point right here where you have this like little round beat parts?
Is that where the sound is produced and then it travels up with like air through the tube? Yeah. It's when when you plug your earphones into a stereo, into a cell phone, into a laptop, a standard output goes from that up into the speaker, which is in that little container. That speaker terminates all electrical signal and it creates it in a speaker that goes into the air and that's where it becomes acoustical. It goes into the tube and it carries into the ears acoustically. So there is no emission that's going from here to here.
And that was the goal. Eliminate any radiation that can occur on the use, particularly with heavy use. I mean, the fact is like, that's fantastic. You have the pioneer. I'll give you a story of why I worry about this stuff. There's a several years ago, Yale University did a study and they looked at certain characteristics of their environment to see if if there would be evidence of cancer. So what they found was if you had fluoride, you had inherited mutated cell, which many people have, and you have a 2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi signal, you were three times more likely to have cancer of the pineal gland, 3 times more, three times more.
So is it important to remove that 2.4 signal around you? Yes, it is. In that case, you're playing statistics. You're reducing the potentials that exist with those kinds of conditions you're in. Yes, absolutely. Do you want to tell me about the differences now with the 5G? Now obviously I think the world getting ready or big tech is getting ready to move on to 6G soon as well. What's the difference between this generation now 5G6G compared to the previous generation? OK. So I love that question because I think there's a lot of misunderstanding of what 5G is and what it's not.
It turns out that when we talked about this typical RF signal today from your typical devices, I mentioned that you won't typically see much above 10 gigahertz, 10 billion cycles per second. And so with 5G, most of what's been deployed so far is below 10 gigahertz. Believe it or not, they activated the 2.4 for commercial transmissions. So there's certain stuff that's going on that didn't occur years ago, but in similar frequency rates that exist and have been for the last 30 years. So we know a lot about that.
We know that exposures through very well structured Amazoni Institute studies and the National Toxicity Program that you're elevating the cancerous response the human body has in the brain. We know that, but it's also true. We know that in the heart it's elevated because of that. So that's not changed with a lot of the 5G. But when you go to the scale that goes beyond the 10 gigahertz, it typically can go up to 300, about 300 gigahertz. That's pretty fast. You know, it's far superior there. And as an example, what I know is at 20 gigahertz, there's it's been a study that says that RF signal at 20 gigahertz, the bugs in your stomach love, the microbiome of the stomach love, which is by the way, true for all our.
And in fact, as a side note, people who have left your hypersensitivity often, more often than not have dev C elevated dev C, which is part of the gut composition. So we know 20 gigahertz, it's the same thing, if not more. So there's a study there. And we know that 90 gigahertz, for example, that when you have an RF signal of 90 gigahertz that's directed towards you, your sweat glands act as antennas for that 90 gigahertz. And you all of a sudden you get really hot and you want to run away from the signal.
So we know that's true, but we don't know much else. And that's sort of the problem is that we really don't know. We don't have scientific evidence that it's safe or not. Now many people are speculating that it's the same, if not worse than the signals of today. But you know what? We don't really have science about that yet. Now, if you talk about what happens with 6G6G goes from 300 gigahertz to a terahertz 2.2 terahertz, that's trillion cycles per second. And, and remember, X-rays are in the terahertz space.
So we're edging into the terahertz territory. And what we know is that we don't know much about it. Now I'm going to talk a little bit about 20 gigahertz, which we don't see much of, but it's definitely going to be used in the in the 5G space because it's 20 gigahertz really, really fast. It can't go really, really far. Your cell phone goes up to 5 miles with 20 gigahertz, goes 750 feet. It doesn't go far at all. When you have a cell tower that you're trying to communicate, it's transmitting at about 20 watts.
That's a measure of the power, 20 watts, well, that's 5 miles away. When you have a 20 gigahertz 5G in front of your house that only goes 750 feet, it's at 20 to 40 watts. So all of a sudden you have all this power that never existed in our environment that's transmitting stuff so you can watch TV. That's what it's for, multimedia. And so we don't know much about that. But I do know one thing, if you have your kids in front of 40 watts and they're playing for hours at a time, I would wonder the long term impacts.
We just don't know. Yeah, absolutely. And I want to ask you a question actually related to this. Has your Internet gotten faster? Because mine definitely hasn't gotten any faster. We're having even these like technical difficulties here while you're talking like sometimes your speech is like, you know, delayed or before you know, it was reconnecting our recording And it's kind of like, OK, you give me, you're bombarding me with this non-native EMF. It's not even benefiting my connection. Well, I was in the telecommunications industry as you know, right?
I looked at the standards at the time. I said this is the same stuff, you know, you're not really doing anything else. Like when you went to high reach, you have beaming what they call beaming and they send two signals to communicate one message. So that's how they get to speed, but none of that's really there and we're not getting the benefit of those. And by the way, they're the ones that are 40 watts and it's not just one you're worried about, it's 2. And so I saw more negative than positive and for the benefit of something I thought was really pretty well doing pretty well with the current technology we had.
Do you want to maybe like shift directions a little bit into children? Are children more susceptible to non-native electromagnetic field? So let's talk about the standard in the US for from the FCC 6 foot male, it enters into the head of a six foot male by one to two inches. If you are six years old it goes completely through their head. So if you have a six year old child. Talking to her grandmother or his grandmother and they talk for 1/2 an hour, that's an exposure that's not existed in any technology previous.
And so we know for sure the barrier, protective barrier, that's the skin, the skull, the muscles, they're not mature with children. And in general, they're three times more likely to have a negative response than a six foot mile because of the penetrations and the heating up as well as the biological implications. So I, I don't particularly care for having children exposed to heavy duty use of technologies. I think it's hard to avoid it. And I often say this, you and I are not going to go to the moon because we want to get away from RF signals.
We, we sort of like our technology around us. It's become convenient for us. But when you use this technology, you sort of need to understand, understand the potential downside implications of that technology use and simple things you can do actually reduce the potential dangers. And they're simple, like when you put a WI, when you build a Wi-Fi, don't put it in the bedroom, put it in the garage. You're going to still get service, but the the signal is far away. And that six Watt signal is actually being lost in the air until it gets to you.
So simple stuff like going Ethernet wiring in your whole house eliminated it questly, but it keeps you as family safe. Yes, exactly. There is a lot of the, how I would call it is this noise, this invisible noise in the environment, right, which is a stressor to our biology. It's all the time like bombarded by this incoherent signal, which basically throws our, you know, cellular communication off. As you mentioned at the beginning. It creates this decoherence, which is this cellular chaos, right, Because the body is designed to be to.
We didn't really talk about this much, but you know how there is a difference between the native Emfs that the Earth produces and then you've got the non-native, which is like obviously all the tech EMF's, right? So the native EMF's of the earth is what your body is designed to be attuned to. And all then all of the non-native EMF's from all of the gadgets, electronic, even something which doesn't have RF but just a simple device as a lamp, for example, can have, you know, electric fields coming off it if the grounding is not, you know, something like that.
So you've got all of these signals which are creating all of this disturbance in the system. And that's why we are having this discussion, to raise the awareness about the subject, the importance of the subject, because it's all around us and it's invisible to the naked eye. And that is, in my opinion, why it's so problematic because people are aware or starting to become aware, the blue light is harmful. So people are, you know, swapping their their light bulbs in their homes to incandescent or red lighting in the evening.
They're wearing blue light blocking glasses. Maybe they're getting more sunlight during the day, but this, the area of non-native EMF is still a very controversial, like it seems very controversial subject. Do you know why it's like still like this? Why it's so misunderstood? Well, I can I can give my in smoking I smoked 4050 years ago and I wanted to be a real man and so I'd watch a Marlboro conversation ad on and I'd say I'm 12 years old I want to be big guy I'm gonna start smoking cigarettes.
At that time, over 40 years ago, there was a direct correlation and evidence that it was linked to cancer in the lungs, but we didn't know it. And so the the tobacco industry were very powerful lobbyists at the time. In the US, it took over 40 years to have a pack of cigarettes with something that says you need to be worried about getting cancer before you smoke this. It took so long because there was a lot of money behind the opposition, but messaging that was occurring at that time. Well, I think that's similar here.
There are over a trillion dollar industry per year and there's a lot of money being spent on your safe. I'm not sure that's true. I've found evidence to the contrary. I I've found thousands and thousands of well studied scientific evidence that shows it's dangerous. And so that is not public knowledge or not full public knowledge, but it's getting there, as you said. In the meantime, you're the desk architect, your own destiny. I would suggest you listen to what you think should be done, not someone else.
I want to go back to the earth thing. Your body is a capacitor When when you're in an environment, it's absorbing toxins as well as sunlight. It's it the good things and the bad things that are happening with with that. And so you are absorbing that toxin and when it builds up the the power level of, of that external power. And as that's building inside of you like a capacitor. And so when you go and put yourself onto the a grounding pad that's grounded to earth or sand or, or your backyard, the energy is going through your feet into the ground.
It's normalizing the energies that you should have within the body. And so that kind of stuff, believe it or not, it really true. You lose the level of energy or the power level of electronics to a more normalized state that's helps you heal, it helps your body, but if not it, it disrupts it. Now with the, the, the Earth's DC up to 15, 15 frequency, it's about 15, nothing higher than that. It's really, really low. And, and the reason why we're OK with that is because the human body has dealt with that for centuries after centuries after centuries, as it says, our body learns to adopt in the environment we live.
That's a fact. And so that exposure, which is typically used in medical community, by the way, for when you talk about vibration and things like that, it's on the lower end of the spectrum. It's the new stuff, that one gigahertz that the human body doesn't know what to do with. So the body is trying to figure out what it's supposed to do when it grows up and it's still trying to learn how to adopt. And that's a transitional thing for the human body in evolution. And right now, the body's evolved to the point where it were refers to RF signal as a cell danger response.
It's Cdr. That's what Doctor Navier talked about. And it says there's an involuntary reaction to an external stressor. And that means it changes the way the body normally works. And if you don't remove that stressor, your body doesn't recover. Yeah, the stressor. I guess go ahead. Sorry, sorry. No, it's OK. Like Doctor Brown, I am, I think I mentioned Doctor Davis's Environmental Health Trust. He's one of the offices of the company. He he's a radiologist MD and he did through imaging what happens with an RF signal.
And what he learned was that he documented through his study the response of red blood cells when exposed to signal that's close, we're low is what it's called. And it's where cell red blood cells connect together, they become clustered together. And we've known this for many, many years. Well, what's happening? Well, what he characterizes in the studies as as the the cell membrane becomes ionized, it's changing its charge on the surface and that's reducing its capacity to carry oxygen. Is that important?
Well, up to this point, most people thought were low was simply a congestion of red blood cells, but it's not. It's actually a mechanism, a body response, a cell danger response to an exposure, which changes the characteristics of the blood. When you have an RF signal is emitting close by your body, red blood cells becomes less capable of transferring oxygen and it's charging the membrane. With his studies, he found not only was there a red blood cell characteristic change that the volume of flow rotated, which we hadn't seen before, which is important to know because that's inefficiency.
And as you may know, when there's lack of oxygenation supporting in the blood cells, red blood cells generate more and it becomes more. The viscosity of the blood itself changes. All of those things are occurring. And what Doctor Brown says through some of the studies he's done and what he lacked was a description of the impact. But through studies that we've been working through, clinics we work with, there's what when you go next door routing and you're you're electric hypersensitive, you fall asleep.
Why? Because there's oxygen, lack of oxygen to the brain. And so is it because it's directly connected to the brain? Or is it because the red blood cells in your body have changed as a result of that exposure? So we're learning more and more than which is exciting because I really do think we need to know more because we do. I personally think it's impacting very negatively of human bodies and we need to be aware of it. Yes, absolutely. Do you want to maybe tell me then like some of the best ways that we can mitigate, like protect ourselves, shield ourselves?
I know you've dropped already many great tips throughout this entire discussion, but what are some of your favorite ways to actually protect yourself from these electromagnetic fields? Well, distance, as I said, if you're going to have these technologies around you, you make sure it's far away in a bedroom. You don't want it in the bedroom. That's a sanctuary where you don't want any RF signals at all if possible. I was on a podcast once and I told a very, very bright podcaster that she should get the cell phone on her night stand out because it was disrupting her sleep and, and her husband at that time.
And I and she said, OK, well, thank you so much for letting me know that. And then about two weeks later, she called me up and she said my husband and I took the cell phones out of our bedroom and we actually slept all night. So she realized that what I was suggesting she do to mitigate the interference with sleep was remove the RF signal. So I personally believe it's a sanctuary. You want to make sure all signals go out of that. Another thing to concern yourself with is Wi-Fi. Get a $10 timer and turn it off at night.
If you want to RF wireless communications during the day, at night, turning it off with a little $10 timer. It's cheap and it actually reduces the exposures into the home Wiring, Ethernet wiring. As I said, you really want to engineer your house to reduce the exposures where possible. Don't have your router in the living room where you all live and the family lives. Have it in your garage. As I said before, if you have a meter on the outside of your house, you really want to get it on the garage wall, not your bedroom wall, because in fact those signals are spurious.
They they go on an and, and by bring making sure those types of things are away from the bedroom environment in the living environment is is sort of another easy way to reduce exposures. So in general, time, distance, and if you still choose to use your cell phone and you still choose to use your laptop on your lap, I suggest shielding. You may want to find ways of having something in between the device you have in your human body that helps reduce the exposures as well one you have those technologies around.
You I wanted to talk a little bit about how your Faraday bag actually is incredible just for the reason being that I always put my phone on flight mode like always when I go to bed right. I don't put the phone out of the bedroom. I don't have it next to the bed. I have it far away from the bed, but it's not out of the bedroom so that all my devices are switched off all they're on flight mode. You know, all the Bluetooth soft ever all the all the connectivities are off, right? But since I started putting it in the Faraday bag, for some reason, my sleep has greatly improved and I don't know if they're bombarding us with signals.
You know, if the phone is still sending signals even though it's on flight mode. I don't know what's going on. You know, it's a bit conspiratorial, but. Actually maybe there is signals they are still transmitting, but it can't can't penetrate outside of the bags. And so it's not unusual that when you take that stressor, even though it's a little, a little bit, it's disrupting something. And so for some it's, it doesn't take much to disrupt sleep. And so I think you're one that actually can feel it.
And what we know from some of the clinic work we do that we have a sleeping mask as an example, when you go to bed at night, it's not a typical sleeping mask. We actually have shielding inside the sleeping mask. And so the RF part can't get through the eye. And so people who are during the day trying on this in the clinics, they get peaceful and calm and they don't know why it's you've taken the stressor out, that's what you've done. And so I'm not surprised if you take that away, that's enough to have a difference in the way you sleep, in the patterns you sleep.
Is there anything that we didn't talk about today that you would like to talk about before we close out the show? I think everyone needs to think through how they stay healthy. And I've said it three times, you're the architect of your own destiny. You're the one who's going to make the choices and you need to be informed when you make those choices. And so I've, I've told you about this scientific studies. I didn't tell you if you have a, if you're in your first trimester and you are heavily inundated with an hour of signal, you are three times more likely when there's heavy signaling in your environment that you have a miscarriage.
And so there's science they have to science that talks about the potential dangers and we just need to spend time to try to understand it. It's hard because you have opposing stories from a lot of people arguing a lot of things. So you need to decide how you want to deal with it in your family and then take action to accordingly as as you feel fit. We know there's a lot of research and it's in my opinion, a preponderance of evidence of biological implications to the modern technology that we live around to today.
And so I really do encourage everyone to think about and understand enough where they can make choices in their life or where they use technology, how they let their children use technology, where they restrict it, where they don't. I think those rules come from the home and and it's something we control. So my recommendation is always make choices that you want to make, not help have someone tell you what to do. Yes yes and for everything that we discussed today, I'll make sure to put a promo link in the description so people can get a discount through my link as well.
OK, so all of your incredible products that you actually offer sell these air tube earphones, which I highly recommend they're absolutely fantastic. The sound quality is amazing. I just literally replaced like some of my old wired earphones and I didn't actually even know that my wired earphone had an issue on one side because I was always hearing more on the right side than the left. And I was thinking that it's something to do with my microphone or the phone. But when I swap to these ones, I can hear you clearly on both sides.
So clearly it was my earphones and I've got the headset as well. You know, the over the ear headphones, those are those are incredible, very comfortable on the ear, like very soft. And I've got your Faraday bag, which I highly recommend for anybody. If you're actually keeping, you know, your devices close to your body, I highly recommend that you have one of these Varaday bags. You know, if you want to protect, you know, your data from being stolen as well, or if you want to protect yourself just from the EMF's like it's just highly, highly recommended.
And I've also got the scarf as well. The scarf is amazing because it's pretty big. You can. You can if you're laying on the bed for example, you can put it over your entire body if you're using your phone. At least the EMF's are not like blasting your heart, your thyroid in all these different. Areas. Which are super, super vulnerable. Yeah. So I just highly recommend for people to actually, actually check your products out because again, we know that technology is not going anywhere. It's here to stay.
In fact, it's increasing more and more, right? As we discussed, the GS are going up like everything is becoming electrified, right? And so we need to find ways to protect ourselves because we literally are like astronauts living on Earth. So I want to thank you, Dan, for coming on the show and sharing your wisdom with my audience today. And please stay on the line when I end the call. OK. Thanks so much.
