How do you know that your blue light blockers are actually working? So this is called the RGB test. Basically it's the three colors, red, green, and blue. And if the blue light blockers are actually working, you shouldn't be able to see the green color or the blue color through your nighttime blue light blocking glasses. As an example, I have here EMR techs Havoc nighttime blue light blocking glasses. And when we put them on, we can see that we can't see the green or the blue. It basically just looks all red.
This is how it should look like when you have a pair of blue light blocking glasses that actually work. So if your blue light blocking glasses are not blocking blue and green light, especially after sunset, make sure that you head over to emrtech.com and use the promo code Mobility Fitness to get 20% off your entire order. Hello everyone. Welcome back to another exciting episode of the Fitness Wisdom Podcast. Today I'm going to be talking with Maria Mooney. She is a systematic kinesiologist and quantum health coach.
And we're going to be talking about natural practices and therapies in which we can assist our body. So she specializes in a holistic approach, right when it comes to treating the body to heal and also to thrive. So I'm very excited to bring this knowledge and wisdom to you guys. The reason why I wanted to invite you on today is because you are a systematic kinesiologist and you're a quantum health coach. And I know that this is your expertise. And I'm not really aware about systematic kinesiology.
I've kind of dug into it for this podcast episode so I can prepare myself so I can understand a little bit what kind of questions to ask you. And the reason why I wanted to bring this to awareness to for myself and for the audience is because we need to empower people and give people the knowledge of different modalities, therapies and practices and tools that exist that are natural out there. Because so many things that we get or receive from the conventional medical establishment may come with side effects or consequences, you know, from doing those things.
Because we know that the conventional medical establishment can offer us great service for acute situations like accident surgeries and so on. And that's amazing, but they are really terrible at dealing with chronic conditions, right? And we know that health is an inside job. So it's our responsibility to take control of what we do on a daily basis, right? And that's exactly why I wanted to talk to you about this form of treatment because it seems very holistic and you combine many different tools into the practice.
So maybe you can start off by telling us what is systematic kinesiology. Yeah, yeah. I mean, that's, that's the big question really, because it combines so many different flavors of different existing modalities. And that's why I loved it. I mean, that's why I introduced Matic Kinesiology because when I knew that I didn't want to be a teacher anymore and I wanted to move into health, I had looked into all of the individual modalities, but nothing to me felt like it really encapsulated it all. So I wanted to someone who knew about nutrition, I also wanted to see someone who could look at my emotions.
And I also wanted to see someone who knew about biohacking, lymphatic, you know, lymphatic flush, lymphatic drainage, all of that. And so when I by chance had a session with my friend's mother, who was who was my kinesiologist at the time, and she explained a little bit of what she was doing, she was like, look, go and do the foundation and see what you think. And you know that feeling whenever you are in a space, you're learning and it just completely aligns with you just know it's like this is the next thing.
This is the thing that really resonates so deeply with me. And so I started learning about systematic kinesiology and knew before I had even started the foundation that I wanted to get qualified and to be a practitioner. And really, if I can write simply, there's four pillars that we work. And this is what made me fall in love with it. So the first is the chemical nutritional body. So looking at chemicals, hormones, gut health, micronutrients, micronutrients, all of that lovely stuff, the structural body.
So looking at things that are now becoming very much like, oh, this is on, you know, this is new up and coming. You know, people in systematic kinesiology have been talking for about it for a long time because of the chiropractic influence in systematic kinesiology. So looking at jaw alignment and how does that affect hips and how do hips and how does bilateral or weakness on both sides of the body and knees muscles, how is that connected to that part of the skull? So systematic kinesiology looks at the different bands in the body and how they are always talking to each other.
Yeah, yeah. And looks at exactly fascia, it looks at muscle and muscle pairings. So there's different pairings according to where they're linked up on the spine. So that would be the structural, which I know you know, loads of white. The energetic body is really cool. So again, this was like me getting an education, much less in depth of course, but an education on the electrical lines of the body and the electrical and the Meridian lines and where do they start? The end. Now we're not trained to use needles, but we're trained to do acupressure.
So once you know where they are using high electricity to influence your electricity. And so even then we're looking at electron transfer and things like that.
And within that electrical body, then what I love about traumatic kinesiology is it is almost like this harmony of East and Western practices. So yes, we're learning about everything through a very Western lens, but we're also learning about the chakras and we're learning about, yeah, what energy centres are there? What organ systems do they govern? What hormones do they govern? What is the light frequency that they're sensitive to? What are the colours, the aura? So the electromagnetic field. Now that I've learned about quantum, I'm like able to understand it all a lot better.
I won't say that much, but electromagnetic body. And then the last player is the emotional, the emotional aspect. And that would probably be one of my favorite pillars, I would say, because we're looking at, again, a big Chinese influence of what emotions, what frequency of emotion is stored or is, what organs are very sensitive to that frequency of that emotion. So we know because we've all experienced this, I'm sure at some point. But stomach as an example that I love to get love to give to people.
Stomach is very sensitive to the frequency of worry and anxiety. So very often stomach will shut down. We don't digest things as well. We lose our appetite or we have this insatiable appetite because there's so much anxious or nervous emotion being held by that organ system. And so I guess the practical side of kinesiology, in comes the muscle testing. And that's what people like. There's muscle testing and yeah, but the way I like to explain it is usually through those four pillars before I go into muscle testing because people are sort of, you know.
I was, I was actually going to ask you, yeah. Like, do you use the muscle testing for all of those four pillars? It's like just a tool that you use or do you have other ways to assess what the body needs through those four pillars, you know, different modality for each one? Or is it or is it like a perfect tool to use for all of them? Yeah, it's a perfect tool to use for all of them. And that's when you combine. For me, that's when I combine my quantum training and also what intuitively I feel this person is really lacking or needing.
So that's when me being quite sensitive to emotions and feeling into people, that's when I would bring in that the most. Sometimes I don't even need a muscle test. I know from they're going through that. It's like there's big energy here of this, but muscle is a beautiful way into for someone who, let's say you came in and I don't know anything about your background and I don't know anything that's going on. We can gently what you're doing is testing muscles. Every muscle is connected in this is the chiropractic side coming in again.
So every muscle connects into a different vertebrae on the spine and there's nerves that run and feed that muscle, that muscle group, but also run into the different organ systems. And this is the system, the systematic kinesiology part believe what we're doing is testing the energy flow through the muscle to get an idea of that organ system. If you go to a good chiropractor, ideally they're going to see, OK, this vertebrae and this vertebrae or this vertebrae is out of line or it's it's not where it should be.
A good chiropractor, I think, I hope anytime I've experienced a really good session with one, they were able to also ask me, how is your menstrual system? Because the vertebrae that's needing attention is connected through the nerves to that to that system. So that's really what we're doing. But instead of me feeling and clicking vertebrae, I'm just testing the muscles that are connected to those vertebrae. And really from there then we are looking into challenges, how to challenge different valves of the digestive system.
We can challenge different energy centers with the chakras and test the muscles to see how does that bio field respond. So you're going to have muscle switching off, switching on and giving us a little bit of an insight into what's relevant now, not like what's good and what's bad. The body doesn't know what's what's good, what's bad. It just knows when something is relevant. So things switch off, things switch on and that's when a little more and more information about about what this body is expressing on what they need.
So how do you sense that aspect of it then that what you mentioned about the chakras and the energetic aspect, how are you? Can you do that through muscle testing also? Yeah, you can. So this is when it gets really, really cool because. Maybe maybe you should explain like what muscle testing actually is for people who don't know and like what does it look like in practicality and if you give us an example. Sure. So obviously I need a body in front of me. But let's say as an example, you're lying down on the bed here, I'll get you a very common one, anterior deltoid.
So I'll just get you as you're lying down to hold your arm like this. And then I'm just going to gently put pressure on that muscle and resist. It's not a big hard, but it's like I'm pressing in, squeezing in to see does that muscle activate and can it easily resist my pressure to make sure that that muscle is like responding and it's listening, OK. We stimulate an acupressure point that temporarily cuts off the energy feed. So as you know, the electrical lines, energy lines, we can actually stimulate, it's actually down around the ankle for that particular muscle, but you can temporarily switch it off by stimulating that point and it should gently just lose its power temporarily and then you hold again and it's strong.
So again, for people that I have explained this to, they're like, OK, all right. And yes, every time someone comes in and they're they feel it in their bodies, like what, what is that? And it's very simple. It just feels like you lose, like it's harder to hold, but it comes back. So you asked me there about how to test almost like the energy centers. So for that, what we were trained is you're just stimulating the energy, whether you press down on that centre or you can just work with the bio field.
But you like bringing the body's attention to that area through and then test the muscle. And there will usually be one or two, sometimes three chakras where the muscle just switches off temporarily. And that's when we. OK, the body is asking for a little bit more attention here. Yeah, in in that realm, many kinesiologists will with the chemical looking at foods, testing the body with foods on the bio field to see what doesn't align, what does align, what supplement body want, what does it need.
But personally, yes, I love the food side of things. But because of quantum, I know the power of the electrical body, the emotional body, I'm really supporting that as well. And it really gives. Once you're a trained systematic kinesiologist, you can go down whatever Ave. you want. Like I know systematic theologists who purely work with homeopathic remedies because they're complete frequency. They will just focus on the frequency of the body. I know practitioners who work purely with crystal stones, anything that is going to give a certain frequency again from those things.
My approach is very much like very emotionally heavy because I I see and I feel myself how much my emotions dictate the systems in my body. But in between sessions, which is why I've moved from just seeing people for kinesiology to now a longer journey of quantum health and kinesiology. Because yes, we can do the emotional unblocking and support your body and do the lymphatic work, but ultimately if you're light is shit and you're eating is way off and you're never grinding, it's very hard for us to get anywhere outside of training, outside of sessions.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So maybe you can speak on the importance of the circadian and quantum biology principles as a foundation of health, because I don't think many people are still very unaware. Only in our circles, you know, yours and mine and many other people who are we are connected with, we are aware about these things, right. But there are so many people out there who are still not aware of the importance of circadian and quantum biology principles. And when we say the word quantum, many people just think like, oh, it's that wool stuff, you know, it's that invisible stuff that you can't see and it's influencing you.
Well, yeah, it is just like Wi-Fi is able to connect to your phone. It's like the electrons and the electromagnetic fields are impacting you like at every single moment. So this is what Maria is saying, that we are electromagnetic beings as well as physical. So there's so much that we cannot see, which is influencing our biology, right? Maybe you can tell us like why it's so important to address those those things, those aspects. Well, first of all, really what I tell my clients is in order for us to move through a big journey of healing, you need to have enough vital energy to actually do that healing.
So much energy from the body because it's not just taken away as normal. It's like moving through, it's climbing a mountain now to get you to the next level. And so purely, and I explain this as simply as I can to clients because most of my clients have never heard of quantum biology and circadian rhythm and grinding and all of that. Not yet anyway. But yeah, how I like to sort of explain it to them is that we need to cultivate enough vital energy in your body so that you can actually start healing.
You have enough life force. Exactly. And so one way, well one way to do this and the place that we need to start is looking at the light diet. And I didn't coin that. I know someone else talked about light diet and I have. Matt Maruka from Real Optics is the one. Awesome. Yeah, I didn't know where, but I really liked it. Light diet and Oh my gosh, I mean just hearing whenever not all clients will will because I feel like you need to almost trust the process and also you need to value the process in order to actually do it.
And sometimes they're just not there yet because they are critically unwell. And that's, I trust that it will come in when it's meant to. But for the clients who have gone on to actually change little things like not being on their phone in the morning, getting outside, going for their walk at UVA Rise, being really mindful at night time about light source changing, you know, for a little red light here instead of the normal lamp. The way they explain it, it's almost like they have woken up into a new, a new life like state of consciousness.
It's like an, a spiritual experience for some of them because they're, they're just in this new life, this new world. Because everything to me, it feels like everything is like singing in their body because it's aligned again, it's aligned with me. They're just, yeah, flowing and also experiencing this vital energy just finally growing in their body. And that's when the healing takes off. And honestly, once they get the sun down and the circadian health down, everything just like, speeds up. Everything goes so much faster.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so true. I mean, it's so, so important because if you don't address the aspect, you know, you, you basically don't have the life force energy like you said, and you need that to carry out every single process in your body. And if you want to heal, you need energy to heal, right? So we just tend to think of energy coming from food, which is true. That's one third of our energy sources by we need to rely also on sunlight and also on the grounding aspect if we are not gathering the energy and also.
Preventing the depletion of energy from negative sources like non-native electromagnetic fields, blue lights and toxins, plastics, all this stuff which is modern man made things, those things are going to be depleting our battery. And I think the most important thing is to make sure that you are staying more charged, you know, rather than on the lower side because on the lower side then that's when this is begins to manifest whether that is like a physical, emotional, energetic just like as you as you mentioned, right, like all the pro, all those other aspects are influenced because of the electromagnetic energetic aspect of the system.
Yeah, yeah, I would even say, you know, tie in that in with people's emotional health and emotional work. Very often I'm doing a lot of inner child unblocking and a lot of inner child healing in sessions with people. And again, that is so depleting because this, this neural pathway has been firing over and over and over again. And in order for us to have enough vital energy to actually instruct, this is not the way we're going to live or think or believe we're going to do. This takes so much energy.
People leave and they're white and they're like, oh, so like, yeah, go rest. Don't do anything too heavy. Go grind. But in order for that to stick and for people to then move into this newer version of self and to choose differently each time, they need to have enough energy to do that. And again, it's it's grinding into that, it's having the sunlight to do that. I also think that if the tendency or the inner child is very much used to low self esteem or that lower frequency of emotion, whenever we are not getting those beautiful rays from sunlight and the wavelengths from from nature, I think it's almost that emotion has more power and more influence on the soul.
That's what I think. 100%, yeah. We're getting like a re attuned to nature, to sunlight, to, to, you know, that you see, I feel like those heavier emotions in the subconscious maybe don't have as much power. We have more choice to overwrite them to do the inner child healing. You know, I think it's just we need the Earth's support to really move through evolution and transformation and growth. Definitely, yeah. And I lost how you said before that it's like a spiritual and enlightenment or experience when you step into a new reality, because it does require an entire lifestyle shift if people actually want to be healthy.
I think a lot of people don't actually understand that it's what you do consistently on a daily basis. I think everybody agrees that consistency is key for anything for success, right? So what we do most frequently is what either helps us to become healthy and thrive or it kills us slowly and we don't realize it. So this is it's only two ways. You don't have somewhere in the middle. It's either going up or it's going down. So like it's like it's literally because you know, if your habit, you have got some good, some good habits in the day, yeah, you can maybe be going up, but then if you have a more negative than good ones, you're going to be going down.
So you need to again, think about that battery and allergy staying more charged than discharged. You always want to make sure that you are on that right track and you are taking that health ownership and requires a whole lifestyle shift, which is going to set you into a new reality, a new state of being as a human being. Because obviously if you have to be live in alignment with nature, you have to now start waking up with the sunset you need If you never did that before, you need to get in the sea or get on grass or get grounded every day.
Get your bare feet. When was the last time somebody touched their bare feet on grass or was not in shoes or even just barefoot in general? You know, like all these little habits or being outside in the sun is altering your behavior and therefore your state of mind and who you are as a person because you become based on your habits and behaviors of what you, you know, you do every single day. So if you are surrounded by people that you love, if you are outside in the sun, if you're doing all this good stuff connected with nature, I believe everybody can be more awesome human beings to themselves and to everybody around them.
And then they'll have more energy and vitality to support their health journey for everything that you are talking about as well. Yeah, everything collectively surges up whenever you're when you're making those choices. And it's funny you talk about choices, Andreas, because yesterday we had a live event here and we talked about this idea of, of radical responsibility for your life experience. And I think only I've heard it before, but it really dropped for me about a month ago. And once it like, Oh my goodness.
And the person that talked to me about this radical responsibility really said that as you say, there's always a choice. And in not choosing one, you're choosing the other. So even if you oh, well, I didn't, you know, I'm finding it hard to choose that right now because you're not choosing that A, you're choosing B. And again, it's like that is our responsibility. Which one do we want to choose? And knowing it's always a choice whether we go A or whether we go B. And yesterday we talked about level, maybe deeper than that as well, is very often we know what we should choose, but it requires this level of value of self value and self worth deserving of actually doing that for myself.
Because come in and buy like, well, who am I to be healthy? Who am I to do what my family don't do to grind every day to get out in sunlight, to wear these weird blockers? You know, it's, it's at a level it requires us to soothing our child, telling our child like you are worth looking after, you deserve good health. And you actually you're allowed to choose this thing if you want. And yeah, that's what I see a lot. My practice is, you know, women know in theory what the choices are, but self sabotage comes in so much because do I actually deserve to be big and healthy and vibrant?
You know, I don't serve that. So that's a real well with health. Absolutely. And sometimes the choices as well, like the healthy things, the things that are good for us are not necessarily easy. Just because it's like good for our health doesn't mean that it's easy. And this is the hard part about earning our dopamine versus like getting it easily right. And I've been having these thoughts lately. I've been thinking about how dopamine, it literally dictates every single decision that we make in our life.
And the reason why I say this is because think about how when you listen to a song that's different, it catches your attention, right? That's because your dopamine rises to change. It's not doesn't matter what type of change, just change. This is what they have mastered the art of on TV, radio, entertainment. They have mastered the art of change. Changing scenes, zooming in and out, flashing lights, loud noises, low noises, anything. When you go in a supermarket, you have like, all of a sudden a weird sound or something playing.
This is like stimulating your dopamine. It's altering your behavior as a human being. So when you're. The quicker you realize that dopamine is dictating every single decision you make, the more in control you can be that. OK, Yeah. Like, I'm not going to do what my mind says that I want. I'm going to do what I think is better. Well, sometimes you have to listen to your intuition as well, of course. But if you in some certain situations or most situations, you know, we'll make decisions just based on to trigger that dopamine response, that easy dopamine response.
You know, because the reason why a lot of people are feeling anxious and depressed nowadays is because they are getting that artificial dopamine, that quick cheap dopamine, which doesn't require any effort. And they require that stimulation from the scrolling and the endless entertainment and change for the brain to be able to stay, to keep the brain like feeling OK, like everything's good, everything's good. But when we reconnect with nature and the stimulation is not that much, it's very subtle.
We learn to appreciate the subtleties of life way more and we notice them more. So we don't. You know, many times if we're over stimulated, we don't notice the beauty of life. It just passes by like a whole day goes by. We don't even notice it. We don't appreciate the sunset, all the, all the birds singing or the wind. We, we dismiss these things because we are distracted with that cheap dopamine. But as soon as we reset our system by doing the hard things, meaning that we have earned our dopamine getting out with the sunrise, which is not necessarily easy at the beginning until you're trained to do it, then it's actually easy because it's automated, right?
Getting in the cold, getting in the sea, doing doing the workout, you know, eating clean. Once you do all these things, it's just a form of self respect really because you are not sabotaging your own mindset. Yeah. And I think, you know, you're saying there about it is not the easy choice at the start. Definitely not. And one thing I find really helpful for myself is to think, well, the version that I want to become or the life experience that I want to have, what would that version of me choose?
And it gets really clear because it's like, Oh well, she would choose this. She wants. Like this, she wants to get here, she wants to have this her life. She wants that action or friendship or whatever. So I think that's a really nice way because it feels like it's coming from you. It's empowering. It's not what I do. What's the health? It's well, who would, who would the, you know, what would the newer or the the next version of me want? What would they choose and go with that? They're already stepping into her.
Because then you're you're them. You're her. That's beautiful. Yeah. Like I think that we are all forever evolving and forever changing. Like, you know, I'm sure you and me, we are not the same people who we were one year ago even. We just constantly keep on evolving and learning. And we can either choose to become better or to become worse through our habits and behaviors that we are doing on a daily basis. So I think awareness, just being simply aware about our life, about our thoughts, our behaviors and our acts, how we speak, everything that we do in our life makes us be aware about our decisions.
Because we can't be aware about our decisions or our choices. If our dopamine is controlling our system, right? If we are allowing it to make the decisions for us without having the conscious thought over that. This situation, if I'm analyzing whether I'm going to go left or right or if I'm going to eat it or not eat this thing, you know, we have to be aware because then we again, like you said, you have to say or believe that there is a better version of you in the future or like in the next moment, basically because future doesn't exist, right?
It's just the next moment, the next moment, the next moment. And every moment you have an opportunity, like every single second of every day, you have an opportunity to rewrite your reality of tomorrow, which doesn't exist. Like tomorrow is not guaranteed, right? All that existed now. So if we want to be better in our imagination in the future, then we have to change what we're doing right now if we can, if it's in our power. Yeah, it's, it's all about potential, about stepping more into the potential that's already in you.
You're just opening, opening more of it, opening more of it. And that's that for me helps with the tough choices of of self betterment or improvement. That's what makes it exciting because it's not like and just doing this for the sake of it. I'm I'm doing this because I want to unlock that other layer of my potential that is already. Yeah, because once you get there, once you think that you have gotten to your maximum potential of the certain aspect of your health, there's something else that needs to be addressed, right?
There's always another layer or even, you know, even us who take care of ourselves, you know, as much as we can. We, we also like experience some certain things every now and then, you know, like maybe being unwell or, or something that, you know, that's maybe uncomfortable. And this allows us to dig deeper, like why is this happening? I thought I had everything under control. I thought I was doing all the things. But there is always something revealing itself that you know, something like minerals or, or something like, or the way that we breathe or, you know, these simple little acts that is influencing our life that maybe we are not aware of.
I would like for us to go back to those four pillars of your of kinesiology. And I would like to talk about maybe the different modalities that you use in those pillars. So maybe we can get an idea of like how do you actually approach them? So you mentioned that you are focusing mainly on the emotional aspects, right? And the energetic part, but do you still, you know, work on those all four pillars or is it like, do you focus just only on one pillar for your practice? Always all four, all of the OK, OK talking to each other.
So I'm really fascinated within the emotional realm and the energetic, yes, but how I actually the support the body to release and to process those emotions and those energy is through chemical body in terms of the lymphatics and in terms of nourishing, let's say, even inner child, if we've done a lot of inner child work, usually that will express itself through how the adult brain nourishes or doesn't nourish themselves because the inner child potentially is like, I don't deserve to be looked after because that's what I experienced.
I didn't get, you know, the attunement that I needed from parents. So why would I do for that for myself? Now, how we nourish our body, not always, but I think very often reflects how we were nourished as children. And so part of the work that I do within the emotional realm is looking at, OK, let's actually open the conversation about nourishment. Do you have breakfast? Do you, you know, how often do you eat and do you eat during the day? Are you, you know, fasting? But how does that feel? Does that actually feel good?
Does it feel bad? Do we have what we need through our nourishment and our food? And very often whenever people are in fight or flight and inner child is really struggling through the life experience, nourishment and nutrition take such a back seat. And so that's when I would bring in the chemical focus really. But through the lens of this like soft maternal nourishment that this person, this adult needs. And it's really looking at mineral dense foods. For me, it's like educating them on animal based foods and the nutrient density of that, working around what they're already having.
I like to bring a lot of the Chinese aspects too. So looking at what season are we in, you know, do we need more heat in the body? Do we need cooler coolness in the body? Again, that's going to be specific for that person. Is there supplementation that is needed? And sometimes there is to basically get them into a better position to nourish. That would be the chemicals and nutrition. In terms of the structural, we actually bring the lymphatic into the structural, which is cool. So yes, fascia, yes, muscles, yes, you know bones.
But the lymphatic work will always happen in session and you'll really love this. But one of the things that we do is when we are using so to work with inner child, I use like a hypnotherapy, very deep meditative state where they're not hypnotized, by the way, 'cause everybody's like what? Just like deep relaxation meditation. Yeah. In essence, we can go down as our adult self in our mind and meet the inner child and see what emotions are actually there and what needs are actually there and what pain points are actually there and sues or, you know, acknowledge or comfort in whatever way I feel is best appropriate for that person.
Sometimes inner child does not want much contact because it's the first time they've ever been acknowledged for years and years. So even just for that client to meet that inner child, I think is like a great starting point. But once we know, OK, what, what is the emotion we're working with here? Is it sadness? Is it anger? Is it loneliness? Perhaps we always bring the lymphatic system in because again, what organ system is, is probably under energized because of this heavy frequency, this heavy emotion.
And as you know, water in the body holds emotion that is what's holding a lot of the trauma and a lot of the memory in this physical body. So we need to massage the lymphatic points and get that flushed so that, you know, energetically and emotionally they're getting a release, but their body actually has the potential to cleanse and to shift that energy in the bio water. So that's getting moved as well. So yeah, we we work with all four pillars in a really cool kind of crossover way. No, no, that's super cool.
Especially what you said about the water. I'm very fascinated about water and I'm sure you are as well. It's just such a topic that we, we don't really fully understand, I think, you know, yet, you know, in terms of science, especially now that we understand Doctor Pollack's work about the exclusion zone water and how the water that we have in our body is not like the water that we drink. It's more like this gel like substance, right? And the fascia is basically made-up of the majority of this type of water.
So it's what creates the elasticity or the tightness in the system. And I feel like fascia is, is really incredible because it can be really supple, like really liquid and soft when you are in a parasympathetic state and you are relaxed, but it can become very tense and rigid in a sympathetic state, right? It can alter its function upon the nervous system regulation. And I've noticed this, you can, anybody can notice this if you're standing and you touch the bottom of your foot while you're standing, the arch of your foot is hard, right?
Because there is pressure on the ground and your muscles have to tense. And now the fascial sheets are spread. So now they're more tense. So there's an arch in your foot. But when you cross your legs and you touch your foot while you're sitting down, you can feel how it's like super soft and you know, fluid. Well, it depends, right? Because if someone is chronically in a sympathetic state, this is when they can have chronic muscle time. In certain areas of the body, right? You are pretty very much aware of this, I'm sure when you are testing people and finding these chronic muscle imbalances that have occurred over time.
It's almost like these stuck neural pathways which were activated during a certain traumatic experience or emotional response, right? That happened and then the body never reorganized itself or the muscles didn't switch off after the event happened, so they stayed chronically tight. Is that do you think that actually occurs? Yes. So I explained to you earlier about the importance for us to check that a muscle switches off before we begin. And I see so many people, their muscles do not switch off.
They're of hypertonicity. So we have to do a lot of emotional, emotional, we have to do a lot of nervous system regulation on the bed for their body actually feel safe enough that we can muscle test, which is interesting. So it's not that people come in when they are super stressed and they're all their muscles are weak. It's usually the opposite when they come in and they're like, I need so much help. Their muscles are all so hard and stiff and tight and that's that's kind of where we need to basically work with.
Yeah, bringing them into pathetic. So what are your strategies in nervous system regulation that you use before they, you know, get relaxed? One of the things that I've started doing a lot more is a lot more touch because I know that I have lots of electrons to give. So I know through that touch at least that they're sort of getting a little bit more energy. But also it's tactile care. It's something that humans need and that we probably don't get enough of, you know? And so I'll put my hands, I do a lot of my cranial work.
So just particular places that stimulate blood flow, neurovascular points, we call them. And I can hear people like to exhale, their body relaxes and it's so small. And I think like God love them because I'm, you know, I'm not saying that I'm getting loads of tactical care and I'm booking myself in for all of these. I'm not. But there's some people that obviously are just so lacking in tactile care from their community and their family and their partners and things. So touch is massive. That's where I would start, where they and they like really bringing in their senses is going to help the nervous system.
They choose an essential oil that they like and then I'll use that, a little bit of that in working lymphatic points. So collarbone jaw, we'll work the back of the neck, we'll do the cranial points, do a little bit of chakra balancing, work on the soles of the feet where all the Meridian line ends. Chinon forks just to kind of like a chin. Their their their energy, their frequency will use different Chinon forks. So really they're usually getting a big chunk of the session even before we do muscle testing.
Because if it's their first session and they're super hypertonic, that's just what they that's OK. Yes, yes, yes. I've heard many times before that the body doesn't accept the treatment well when it's in a state of fight and flight or in a stiff state, let's say. And most people are in a stiff state because either, yeah, they're caught up in that fight and flight state or their muscles are actually weak because, you know, weakness can also create tiredness because the brain is always seeking safety and a specific muscle tone, like the healthy muscle tone.
And when the muscle is weak, it over tightens to compensate for that. And This is why some people may experience chronic tightness even if they are weak, you know, and they are maybe constantly trying to stretch the muscle. And that stretching is constantly creating this fear to the nervous system that, whoa, this is like way too loose. I don't have control over this muscle. I need to do something about it. And then, yeah, it tightens it up basically even more. And This is why I say to people that you should strength train through full range of motion as much as you can because, well, this is your, the way that your body is designed to work in full range of motion anyway.
But you know, this is what you need to do, especially whether it's with your body weight or external load or machines or whatever you want to use. It doesn't matter as long as there is an external load involved, whether that is your body weight. And that helps the body to understand that what I'm doing is safe. And we're able to reprogram those muscles again to be able to switch off after the activity has ended because then now it feels like, OK, now, once I get stronger, now I can just relax. I don't need to be all the time tense because I have.
They are showing me that, yeah. Like they are taking the muscle through the full range of motion, showing how to function correctly. And now we can just turn on and off. And the beauty of our exercise, especially when you do very intense and hard exercise, your brain is able to perceive the difference between on and off. And so your muscle, sometimes you might go into a workout super stiff and you might leave the workout feeling super relaxed after the workout has finished because now your brain is like, oh, that was hard.
And now we're not doing something, it's not hard anymore. And now I can just fully surrender. I've experienced that with myself for sure. Like going into workout, maybe having a stiff neck or tight chest. And after I've trained those specific muscles, the same muscles, you would think they would get tighter, right? But in reality, no, they actually get got looser which is crazy. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, it's the the on, off. That's what we're working with too, a lot of the time, in a different realm.
But muscles on, muscles off, weak, tight. So what other like natural like remedies or practices do you incorporate into your practice that we haven't talked about yet? One that comes to mind actually just as you were saying that is the back flower remedies. So homeopathic remedies are really cool. Backflowers are really emotional homeopathic remedies. So they are purely to almost contrast a low frequency of emotion in the body. So Doctor Bach really connected with different Flyers and worked with the frequency and of each flyer, what they were supportive of and really worked with his clients in that way.
And I really, really enjoyed that aspect. Again, this is like very much within the the emotional energetic realm that some I think is too much and that's fine if it's not for you. And I have clients that don't want to know anything about chemical. They want pure sort of support from the flower remedies and the more ethic frequency remedies. So where I really love that and I've seen them work very quickly on clients who have come in feeling a certain way post session, they'll have their their homeopathic remedies that they'll take for a few weeks and it's still supportive and so beautiful.
So I really enjoy that Quantum has helped me really understand that a lot better. Before quantum and water and frequency and intention, I was sort of like, OK, well, these help me, but I don't really understand how it works. So that's let me think in terms of other, other techniques, lymphatic work. So I know I think you do a lot of rebounding as well. Oh yeah. Yeah. And even. Yeah, because you were the one that actually showed me how to rebound without a trampoline. And I was like, this is amazing.
So I use that with my clients now too. Just bouncing on the soles of your feet to really get full kind of movement into the lymphatic and help clean that out. Even the organs, they just get like a massive shift of up and down motion because I don't think we appreciate the fact that the breathing, the way that we breathe and also our movement of our body. Why it's so important to move is because our internal organs get like this shift of this up and down G force, right? And when they are shifting up and down, they're stimulated.
And the cool thing is that we can experience signs of detoxification and clearing after we do some of this rebounding on our souls or even on a rebound or even just simply a minute. Every single day we have this extra urination or we feel like we are excreting, you know, from our breath or, you know, we can make it some spots on our skin, which is just our bodies way of like getting rid of toxins and, and stuff from our system that wasn't meant to be there. So it's super easy and and simple to do for sure.
Yeah, yeah. So that's a big practice. Another thing, it's more cerebral spinal fluid as opposed to lymph. But one of the big, the big techniques that we use in kinesiology is something called cross crawl. I don't know if you're familiar with. It I'm not aware enough. I'll just show you again, it's it's really squeezing across the body so that cerebral spinal fluid will flush up into the brain and flush down and flush up and it's crossing over knee and elbow and then knee and elbow. So it's to do that who come in to see me with cognitive, you know, issues with concentration or with even things like in educational kinesiology, they use a lot of cross crawl for children with dyslexia or if there's any flipping over.
So working with left and right hemisphere in the body like it's just technique, but parents will work that into their kids routine where they are like doing crawl crawl nice and slowly. Standing or laying down? Stand you can do it standing or laying down, but really from the hips it's you're squeezing the fluid up into the brain and you can also then it's it's great for coordination. So post stroke clients, I'll get them to do cross crawl in their daily kind of habits homework. But also you can then once you've got good at that one, there's different patterns.
For example, you know, you can do this side crossing over this leg. So I'm like crossing it that way. Behind. The leg is. Like I understand like as if there is an X in them in like like in diagonal X like 45° each side and yeah I get it. And like ski motion too, so you're like jumping forward, back. So basically a lot of rotation. Really like an OP, almost like a sponge. Like twisting a sponge in opposite directions. So fascia works, cerebral, spinal fluid, lymphatic too, but a big part is left and right hemisphere, getting legs, legs and arms to coordinate to the point where that becomes so much easier for the brain to do that.
And it's incredible how many apps and kids when I show them this elbow, this elbow, like I'll do it for them and hold those limbs, let go and say, OK, I want you to do 2 reps more and their body automatically touches left leg the same. Side yeah wow I. Really think that's what you call it, but yeah, it's incredible just how the brain needs a little bit of support to rewire in a in a really nice coordinate. And what was really cool that what you mentioned earlier is that, you know, with people are not interested in getting one of the modalities or one of the pillars that you talked about.
I think that as you're saying right now, is that you can indirectly stimulate or work with those channels of the body through another pillar. Because as you said, that it's like all connected, right? Like a spider web. So if you're doing one, it's going to impact every single other pillar. Of course, if all pillars are working together, it's more optimal. But as you're saying right now, you can, you know, indirectly stimulate the brain to perform better just by using, you know, just some simple body movements, for example, to rebalance left and right hemispheres of the brain.
And, you know, I think that the, the, the fact that the body is like electromagnetic and works on frequency is very under appreciated, right? Because again, it's something that we maybe don't can't see with our eyes and we are, you know, just not appreciating that fact. And what you mentioned about the flowers and everything like this, you know, obviously, do you ever think about how, why a flower has a certain shape? It's because the earth there in that position and its genetic code, epigenetic code makes it have that shape.
Like, you know, the reason why you look like how you look and why I look, why I how I look is because the electromagnetism where we were born, the sunlight, the earth shaped as how we look like where we are meant to be living, right? So the same thing as a flower, it kind of move, a flower kind of move. So it must become a certain shape, a certain color, a certain height, a certain smell based on its environment to be able to survive. So and because shape like frequency creates the shape, but color is also frequency.
So what if that flower actually the shape of it resembles that color And what is like that color? Color resembles a sound because obviously sound is frequency, shape and color. So all of those things together, like when you merge them, they create our reality basically, you know, so it's all, it's all frequency, whether that we want to be aware of it or not, it's all happening all around us. Especially when you look at nature, like natural things that are evolving, you know, from nature, they're all occurring on an energetic level.
So it's it's super fascinating for sure. Yeah, I'm thinking, you know, we call them essences, and that's a beautiful way to encapsulate exactly what you're talking about. The smell, the shape, the color, the the frequency. It's the essence of that. That then remedies different things in our bodies that naturally our energy, it's energy entangles. And then what happens? How do we feel? Yeah, and I'm super fascinated about sound because I recently learned from Doctor Sarah Pugh that photons from the sun, when they strike your skin like melanin, converts them to phonons.
So it converts them to sound inside of your body. And so if you think about light as a form of music to your cells, it's like your body becomes coherent or attuned to its natural environment as it should. So it's singing the orchestra in tune. So all the cells are dancing incoherence on the same rhythm, like birds flying in the sky. And they make these beautiful shapes. Well, when we are incoherent and we are not in natural light, think of like the birds going in opposite directions, really like not flying incoherence and they're losing their direction, they're losing their path.
That's kind of like what happens to our cells when they're incoherent. They're all working by themselves. So they are inefficient at producing energy. So there is a lot of energy wastage and we feel that's when we again, we are depleting our cellular battery and we are experiencing this ease. But that's why we want to do get incoherence and get that brain heart coherence through our breathing, for example. That's one way we can improve cellular coherence. Then we've got the sunlight, which is singing through our cells, and we can do that, I guess, with the earth as well.
Everything is basically a sound, a color and A and a shape really. And when we understand that, we realize that everything is impacting everything. And This is why our environment is so important to our biology and that we need to start respecting that way more. Yeah, and it's, it's almost too simple, isn't it? Really, At the end of the day, it all comes back to optimum health and fulfilling your potential really comes comes down to aligning with the optimal potential out there, which is nature's frequency.
The signs, the smells, the sights, the shapes. Yeah, it's all there for us, ready to use. When you say potential, I always think about this like the slingshot being pulled back, you know, building that potential energy, like physical potential because that because my mind works so much on the on the physical aspect, right. You're thinking more like the energetic, emotional aspects of so so yeah, but it's true. Like I feel that you know, when you are align your life and your values in a way which supports the reality that you wish to create, you help yourself on on the energetic level, the spiritual, the physical, emotional, every single aspect of your life.
So you have this forward momentum and you are excited about your life. And that's literally the slingshot going forward, right? And the more in alignment you live with the life that you wish to live and you start attracting into your life the things that you want because you are changing your frequency that you are putting out there based on your habits and your behaviors and your thoughts, you are more likely to attract more things that are in alignment with your values. And it keeps on building that momentum.
And you're like a shooting star going in the Galaxy, you know, building speed. It's it's pretty epic. Yeah, it's beautiful. I love it. I love talking about this. Absolutely, I need to, we can go on forever like so I would like to end with the last question, which would be for the audience, what would be your best self help tools and practices that people can implement into their life immediately so they can, you know, empower themselves and help themselves? Would you like it to be a practical or would you like it to be a tangible or not tangible?
It doesn't doesn't matter as long as you just give what you believe has a meaningful impact on people's lives. So I guess what's very, I'll give you what's very current for me at the moment is what we're talking about this choice. And I think something that my mentor has really helped me with is noticing the emotions that I don't like when they are there. So very often I think we can get so caught up with. I want to feel more joyful, I want to feel more excited. I want to feel motivated and inspired.
And sometimes it's almost like bypass. We bypass the loneliness or the lack of vision, the fear to choose for ourselves, the fear to choose ourselves, scarcity, anger, all of those things can come up. And one of the things. Things that have have massively changed for me and like have has helped me move into a greater potential for myself is actually allowing those to be there. So I think sometimes we don't talk about this enough in the health world is that we are allowed to feel the loneliness and we're allowed to feel the fear in this way because when we had to bypass them and, you know, grind our way out of it or, you know, have the perfect diet or be outside.
And those things are, as we've just talked about, immensely important. And I feel like we also to almost like transmute and change the energies of those emotions. We actually have to give them airtime. We have to allow ourselves to sit with it and feel it and wait. For me, that is what really opens up people's potential because then they learn like, oh, I'm allowed to feel terrified in this moment. I'm allowed to feel lonely. I'm allowed to feel scared. And once I sit with it and once I feel it, then that's when the choice opens up.
OK, now that I feel this, what do I want to choose for myself? Do I want to? Yeah, what What do I want to change? Do I want more community? Do I want to have that difficult conversation? And yeah, I would say that for me, how I work with my clients is a massive chunk aside from the lifestyle habits. It's actually allowing yourself to feel empowered by allowing those emotions to be there because then fire comes from seeing them and allowing them. And then we were allowed to choose as opposed to avoidance, avoidance, avoidance because ultimately inner child has like more and more and more to hold and to carry.
And then we wonder why energy isn't flowing, why we're stuck here, why this isn't coming into our lives because we're never allowing the shadow side to be there. That would be my. That's a really great tip actually, because there is a reason why we feel those things, right? Otherwise we wouldn't be feeling those things. And everybody's got their weak spots or the things that they haven't dealt with, which are always coming back up again and again and again for us to face and to integrate, right?
Because the more we are aware about something, the less we are reactive or avoiding trying to avoid it as much as we can. We're in reality when we just look at it head on and we're able to just sit in it in stillness and, and process. Why do I feel like this? Actually ask why that is When we are able to look at it objectively, we're not like criticizing it. We're not running away from it. And then after when it comes up again, it doesn't bother us anymore because we understand, you know, there is that deep knowing.
And I think that's exactly what you're saying. Do you have any other great tips that people can implement into their lives?
I'm trying to. Self tools, like anything practical, anything physical that you know, self help, touch techniques, anything like this that they can do. Yeah. I would say again, one of my favorite things that that I encourage everybody to do is the lymphatic work. So very often we think like, oh, I need to get a lymphatic massage. I need to, you know, get a rebounder. Yes, you can do the rebounding on your soles of your feet. But a really nice quick one that I'll do every day is whenever I'm putting my tallow, my moisturizer on, I do collarbones working up to here around my jaw, my under my ears, behind my neck.
And then I do a little bit of essentially like guasha minus the stone and down. And that's just a really nice way, I guess for me to connect in with my lymph and my face, my youth energy on with something that I'm going to do every day. So like that little habit stack. So yeah, that's my take away. I would. Say, yeah, but the lymphatic system is so important. It's one of the most underappreciated and on like, they're not acknowledged systems of the body. It's not even found in textbooks. When you get a textbook, you know, like an anatomy textbook, it rarely has the lymphatic system in it.
It has the cardiovascular system and all the other systems, but it rarely had the lymphatic system in there. Where I think it's going to change very like the more science comes out about the importance of the lymphatic system is definitely going to change. Especially understanding about the lymphatics will meaning, you know, the lymph in the brain and the importance for that for having like not having brain fog and having a clear brain the next day and, and flushing and all of this. And what you just said about stimulating the lymphatic system, helping to drain the lymphatic from the brain as well.
Because that's why we experience many times headaches or or pressure in the head is because of there is a problem or there is a blockage somewhere in the fluid dynamics, right? So there is a blockage somewhere or something is moving too fast and we need to assist the body to readjust. Because many times we just think that the body is this machine that just oh, if we go to bed and we wake up, it's just all fixed. But in reality, we just need to, especially in this modern day and age, we need to assist it as much as we can because it's all the time getting thrown off balance because of our environment, our food, our breathing, our anxiety, our our stressors.
And so we need to support as much as we can. I think what's super fascinating when you look at the lymphatic system and how it's spread all over the body, then you look at meridians. Meridians run exactly on the lymphatic points, which is absolutely insane. And then you start to think, oh, so when I work my lymph, I'm actually working my Meridian flow as well. So again, it's coming back to what we were mentioning earlier, like how everything is connected, the energetic aspect, you know, the spiritual, the emotional, like it's the energetic body, the body that we don't see, which is also like being impacted by the very physical body of our body.
Yeah. I mean, even the link as we know between electricity and water. So the body is designed so beautifully for lymphatics, for the lymph to do what it needs to do for that current and the electrical lines. And it's so cool that I think more research and we have the tools and the equipment might actually be able to prove, quote, to see that for people to actually see what's going on. You know, what I love is like when they study lymph nodes and they look at cadavers, like people who have been mummified, they basically dye the lymph using methylene blue.
So that's how they can really, really see like because for some reason methylene blue is attracted to the lymph nodes and the lymph in general. And that is how they can also identify someone has like cancer cells and stuff, because cancer cells today, the methane blue is attracted to the cancer cells. So then when they are doing scans, they can see that like, oh, this place is more illuminated or it's more dyed. So it's it's pretty fascinating when you think about how methylene blue works, the lymphatic system like the mitochondria and all of this good stuff.
Yeah, I only recently got some methylene blue. Any resource that you would recommend? Very. I just I Oh yeah. Was it was some? Were you on a call? Was that a call? Sorry, no, my my got a little notification there. OK. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's so much stuff out there. I guess if you just listen to podcasts like just write Methylene Blue on on Spotify or you issue. But I also did the podcast with the founder of Meraki Medicine and all, which is the the guy who sells like Vance L Rod. He's also like an MMA champion and basically he he had like a severe like, you know, brain injury because of the fighting and he got, you know, totally late put out really.
And basically methylene blue is the thing that saved his brain. Even though the rest of his body was totally bashed, his brain was actually operational and he was able to come back like better and stronger than ever. And so he's really spreading the message out there by creating his own, you know, methylene blue blue brand. He doesn't also only sell methylene, but he also sells the black seed oil, the organic black seed oil, and the Maggie MU, which is the tallow bomb infused with the methylene blue as well.
So that's, that's pretty cool. That is cool. So yeah, if you listen to episodes, don't remember the episode right now, it must be #5 or 6 on my podcast, Fitness Wisdom Podcast on YouTube or Spotify, you'll be able to find it. So where can people find you, Maria, and work with you and connect with you? Yeah, on Instagram is really where I'm where I'm most active in terms of finding out a little bit more about my vibe and what I do day-to-day and how I'm looking after myself with quantum and kinesiology.
In terms of client work, I work with people for a six months transformation journey as opposed to one off sessions here and there that is currently full, but there will be spaces becoming available for that and probably closer to summer, I would say June time. How that works is really a mixture of in sessions in person, kinesiology and the quantum health coaching to sort of support that. And they also do purely online for people who are not local. To me that looks more like a quantum coaching focused with, of course, the emotional integration piece because I just love talking emotions.
And at the in the middle of March, I'm starting my online group program. So that'll be the first ever, which will be really exciting. So that will be opening up for people at the end of January. And really that is for people who are hearing all of this quantum education and hearing about blocks and potential and fears and desires and dream experiences, but really feel quite overwhelmed with doing new habits or getting into this new lifestyle, making those choices for themselves. So that's a three month container for 12 women to basically have support from each other, but also have the ongoing guidance from me in terms of bit by bit moving through the different states of changing lifestyle and creating sustainability.
And really for them to step into that, that bigger, newer version of themselves. So that's that's at the minute. That's awesome. And can you maybe just mention your Instagram and your website so people can find you in case people are not watching, if they're listening to the podcast? That's right. I forgot this was going to be on. My name is Maria Mooney. My handle is Maria Mooney Health. So Mooney is my second name and my website is Maria Mooney health.com, so it's pretty straightforward. You can find me there.
Awesome, Maria, it was an absolute pleasure to talk with you. I learned so much today. And I'm sure the audience got a tremendous amount of value from this conversation. And I think they now can really understand how that health like is a, it's a holistic approach, right? You can't just approach it from just nutrition or exercise or just like only one aspect. You have to have all the pillars of health together. And I think that you are a true like blessing and gift to the world and the world needs more people like you.
So thank you. I really appreciate it. Thank you, Idris. It's lovely to see you again as well. Thanks. Very nice to talk with you. Yeah, it's been a long time. You enjoy all these awesome conversations that I'm having with the guests. I would really appreciate if you left me a five star review on Spotify and you also followed me also on on YouTube as well because that helps to get the message out there and spread this awesome knowledge and wisdom. I hope that you have an awesome morning slash evening wherever you are in the world.
And until next time.
