This is the fitness wisdom. Podcast Hello and welcome back to another exciting episode of the Fitness Wisdom Podcast. Today we have a returning guest, Doctor Catherine Clinton. She's a true expert on the field of quantum biology. To make sure to go and listen to episode #13 as well of Fitness Wisdom podcasts where we discussed how the body is actually communicating with the environment internally and externally. We know that the sun on the outside of us is influencing the internal environment of our body, right?
But the light that we make on the inside of our body is also really important. And I would absolutely love to get into that today as well. But before we dive into that, I would first like to talk about the bio field because I remember commenting on one of your reels on Instagram and I was saying that we need to talk about this. So maybe for the audience, what is the bio field and where is it generated from? Great question. And, and some of this we don't know, some of this is what people are calling subtle energy fields because we don't truly have them mapped out.
And as far as the biofield goes, the definition of it kind of spans into these fields of frequency and we can measure the biofield as far as electromagnetic frequency. So every cell has its own electromagnetic field. Our cells communicate via these electromagnetic fields. They drive cell movement and migration. They drive cellular behavior. They even drive cell differentiation. How a cell becomes an ear or an elbow is driven by these cell generated electromagnetic fields. Our organelles within the cell also have their own electric magnetic field.
Our organs have their own unique electromagnetic field. And we know this, right, Like we measure in medicine the electromagnetic field of the brain with an EEG or the heart with an EKG. But this is sort of a relatively new to medicine idea that the body is an electric body. It's certainly not a new idea to the field of science. This goes back to pioneers in the field like Albert St. Georgie, and the idea that there is this bioelectric communication in the body. And so the bio field certainly includes electromagnetic fields, but it also includes these fields that we're not quite sure what they are.
They're more subtle. They're hard to measure, kind of like the quantum field. We know that there's that field that exists. We know from the Casmir effect where there are two plates put into an absolute vacuum, yet they drift together. There is an attraction, there's a field there, but we don't quite know what it is. And I think that applies to the biofield as well. We know that subtle energies, intention, distant healing, Reiki, the laying on of hands, all of these things are termed biofield therapies and we're not 100% sure how they work, but they.
So when you look at the outcomes from various studies that have been done over the last several decades, these interventions are really, really powerful and they have a profound impact on healing, even if we can't fully explain what's happening. Wow, what a great breakdown. Thank you so much. So basically these fields, they are influencing us and I assume that we can also influence the field, right? Yeah. Yes, absolutely, absolutely. And I think we see that with the interaction of intentional thought and, and this idea, I mean, it even goes into telepathy and and distant healing bio field therapies where you aren't actually there affecting whatever is being thought of or intervened on, right.
So they've done all kinds of studies. Dean Radin and Masuro Emoto came together and did some incredible research studies on water where they had people all the way in, in Japan or with another cohort in Germany. And they were trying to consciously affect the structure of water. And the water was in the USI mean, that's a very vast distance. And what they saw was a significant difference in the organization of the water. And so these kinds of biofield interventions seem to be able to affect things from a very vast distance.
You don't have to actually make physical contact. And that really gets to the idea of how the body, how living things can work with resonance, how it can be like 2 tuning forks, two things working in resonance. It's pretty incredible. Yeah, it is. And when you realize actually how much influence you can have on your body and also your, the people around you or the beings around you, or even just animals, for example, being close to you, how they can actually impact your like literally your physical state, not only your emotional state.
Because many people, they don't understand this concept of the bio field. They just think that, oh, when I stroke an animal or when I'm in connection with nature, or when, when I'm around with somebody who I love or I feel good, it's just an emotional thing, you know, But it's actually having a very visceral physical impact on a cellular level, basically. That's what you're saying. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. They've done research with bio field interventions, intentional thought, distant healing and cancer cells.
Doctor Bankston, William Bankston, Bill Bankston was an incredible leader in this field. And he created his own method where he kind of taught people step by step how to create this intentional healing thought. And he did a lot of research with mice, and he took groups of mice, intentionally injected them with cancer cells, and they had a predictable lifespan with this injected cancer, right? They're only supposed to live a certain amount of weeks, but he would influence them with his own healing thoughts and this intentional Bankston method that he created and they sometimes he even saw complete remission.
The cancer was completely gone. It was absolutely incredible. And he saw this with breast cancer models. He saw this in a different a couple different cancer models. But this idea that the loving intention of a human can impact cellular pathology is something that I think is incredibly magnificent. And we are just scratching the surface of it. And it's unfortunate because it's it's a free accessible tool that we should be researching more into. Yeah, and it's not just the intention, right? There are other, as you mentioned other modalities which influence these fields.
And I have recently gotten more and more interested in sound healing and I've purchased some tuning forks and I'm I've been playing around with them and I've been trying to understand how they work and all of that good stuff. But even if they, I don't understand how they actually work, I still feel that they are having a great impact on my Physiology. So I just kind of play around with them and just see what feels good for me. You know, when I start from the biggest one to the smallest one or whatever.
But, you know, I'm, I'm also currently reading Eileen Eileen's book on the about the tuning forks. Yeah. So I'm working my way through that. So I'm trying to understand how it all works. And yeah, I just feel like there is not only just about the intention, right. And I feel that there are so many people that they need something physical to utilize to feel like something's happening, you know, because sometimes just the, the thought is a little bit too difficult for some individuals, right? So we need something like sound to feel like, oh, yeah.
When I hear sound, I feel like I'm becoming more relaxed. I feel like my nervous system is regulating itself better, you know? And this is, you know, obviously the nervous system regulation, we know how important that actually is for healing and regeneration and detoxification of the body, right? Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I mean, sound is an incredible tool. And what you're talking about using tuning forks and Eileen acoustics method and and ideology is so fascinating. I mean, she talks about how it's not just the pressure waves of sound, right?
Sound creates these pressure waves that influence different structures in the body. But she's also talking about how our life's experiences are held in the field around us. And we can recalibrate by sending these waves from a tuning fork through this biofield, through this energetic field that is layer by layer surrounding us. And so it's just absolutely phenomenal way to look at the body. I mean, even self generated sound where we are chanting or humming, you know, that's creating serotonin and dopamine and nitric oxide and, and melatonin.
So there's just so many powerful things about sound. And, and I think a lot of people don't realize that so many things in our body are piezoelectric, right? I, I think last time we talked about fascia and how it is piezoelectric, meaning that when it's deformed or exposed to pressure, like pressure waves from sound, it creates an electrical current. And that's just one instance of something that's piezoelectric. We have piezoelectric proteins in our cellular membranes. They're abundant in our heart and our blood vessels, our kidneys.
These things respond to pressure waves from sound, whether it's self generated or, or something like a tuning fork. And so there's this incredible Ave. to healing through sound that again, is is not utilized by modern medicine, but we have been utilizing it as humans for millennia, right? Yes, yes, absolutely. And it seems that all of these modalities which are working on the electromagnetic spectrum, like even sound doesn't sound also fit on the electromagnetic spectrum? So I'm sorry, is sound on the.
Yes, yes, that was my question. Yes, no, it's not on the electromagnetic spectrum of radiation where you'd find, you know, radio waves, visible light, ultraviolet, infrared, microwave, but it's more of a pressure wave. But you know, when we think about all these things, we could all, they could all be categorized as frequency or vibration, right? They are all oscillating movement of something. We could even go as far as saying, you know, it's not really well understood. Magnetic fields, electrical fields, even light, that electromagnetic field of light, we could even say that they are just disturbance or a flux in in the energy that's around us.
And sound is certainly that way. It is a frequency. It is a vibration. Because I've always had this idea that, for example, a specific frequency corresponds, let's say, a certain sound corresponds to a specific color, and a certain color corresponds to a certain, you know, frequency on the electromagnetic spectrum. And then that corresponds to specific shape. And I feel that all of this is sorts of creating what you call this invisible blueprint, right? Which is guiding this life force. And then that's yielding an outcome like a flower for example.
I mean, that's certainly acknowledged in ancient traditions, right? Ancient healing traditions like Asian medicine, ancient Chinese medicine, where they associate a certain sound and they associate that with a certain color and that corresponds to a certain organ system. Or are you Vedic medicine again, where a sound is associated with a certain color that's associated with a certain chakra and energy system in the body. And we, you see that throughout ancient indigenous cultures, Egypt has its own system that correlates these things.
And when you look at at these ancient indigenous cultures, they all spoke of this flow of energy in the body and that health is a free flowing energy in the body and disease is an obstacle or an interference field to that flow of energy. So I I think that's kind of spot on with those traditions. Absolutely. Yeah, it's, it's super cool. But I'll have to have this more all inclusive perspective that everything is sort of intertwined, that all of these frequencies are not parts of different. Like this is the electromagnetic spectrum, for example.
And this is like the sound frequency spectrum or whatever. I feel like they're all sorts of intertwined and interconnect and they're communicating with each other, influencing our field, right. And so I think now my, my next question to you would be how, how does heart coherence influence this biofield, our biofield? And also, how is this influencing the health status of our body? That's a great question. So heart coherence is this idea that when we slow our breath down, when we get intentional, when we drop into our heart space in our chest and we utilize a feeling of love, gratitude, awe at the world around us.
Perhaps that these feelings create coherence. And coherence is really the idea of two or more things working as 1-2 people dancing the tango or multiple water molecules forming a wave in the ocean. And when we look at heart coherence. And Heart Math Institute has really been the pioneer in this field. They've done incredible research. Roland Mccrady has really dedicated his life to this subject matter. And what they have found is that when you're in that space of heart coherence, when your breath is slowed down to a rhythm that influences heart rate variability, when it increases your heart rate variability.
And we can even talk about how that mirrors some of the things that are happening in the world around us. But heart coherence is this idea that once you drop into that state, you entrain the electromagnetic field of the heart, and you entrain that with the electromagnetic field of the brain. And once those two start dancing the tango, so to speak, or are in coherence, that sends a biological ripple throughout the body. And it influences our nervous system, it influences our respiratory rate, our cardiovascular state, it influences our immune system, our inflammatory state.
And so this idea of heart coherence and our own innate ability to regulate our state of coherence and our our state really, you know, when I was in medical school, the analogy that was used so often in naturopathic medical school is that the bodies of Symphony, right? Every Oregon, every cell is playing in this beautiful song. They are different instruments in this song. And when the body is in coherence, everything is playing the same song and everything is working coherently together as a whole.
But once one organ or cell starts to play a different tune, then other cells kind of say, hey, wait, what are we doing? What song are we playing? Things go out of tune and then it's not working as a whole. And that's what we really see with heart coherence. The heart has the biggest electromagnetic field of any organ in the body, much bigger than the heart does, or excuse me, than the brain does. And it has this capacity to entrain other things in our body with it, to pull it into regulation. And again, going back to these ancient indigenous cultures, they spoke of the heart as being the the driver of the body and our Physiology.
Whereas in Western medicine we talk about the brain being the driver, right? And so it's just this beautiful idea of this energetic field being able to create this coherence in the body where things are working smoothly together. Not only that, but it seems from the research that when we are in a state of coherence, our internal coherence can help regulate the coherence of the people around us. So when I'm in a state of coherence, the people around me can pick up on that and their heart rate variability can raise their electromagnetic entrainment of their heart, and their brain can come into this coherent alignment.
Heart Math Institute has even done research about how groups of coherent individuals that are practicing heart coherence exercises seem to sync up with the geomagnetic field of the Earth. And so it's this incredible ripple effect that we see from internal coherence to group coherence to planetary coherence. We even see that when we are in these slow breath practices that you use for heart coherence, 6 breaths, about 6 breaths a minute, that that is the same frequency as the flow of blood through our blood vessels.
And it syncs up with heart rate variability. It syncs up with this very low. Hertz frequency of the geomagnetic field of the Earth. So it's incredible to think that we can line up, we can align, we can sync with our own internal rhythm, with the rhythm of the group of people around us, and possibly with the Earth that we're standing on. That's so cool, yeah. And so basically, it's so important to be in synchronicity throughout the entire body, based on what you just said, for our overall health and vitality, but not only for ourselves, but for the people around us as well, and how that can have a massive influence.
Do you think that, for example, now, because as modern human beings, I feel like we're so out of sync with nature, that we need to now consciously be more aware about our thoughts, our breathing and different other habits and maybe tools to be able to utilize to bring us back to this coherence? But for example, do you believe that in the past, when people were living more in alignment with nature, they were just naturally in coherence? That's a great question. And I think it's, it's kind of two sides of the same coin.
I think that in modern life, we're so disconnected from nature. And when we go out, when we return to that relationship, it automatically feeds that coherence. And so, you know, everything we're talking about from the rising and setting of the sun, from the sound of the breeze through the trees or the bird song or the electromagnetic field, the of free electrons that are lining the earth, all of these things sort of entrain us into a natural state of coherence. They calm us into that that heart centered state that we might be trying to attain, you know, in these steel boxes of a house with our air conditioning or a heating on and our artificial lighting.
We're trying to like, OK, how do we get in the state of heart coherence where it's so much easier when we return to that natural state of the world around us, because we're really being held in that state of coherence when we are in nature. If there was 1 substance that could increase your energy levels, optimize mitochondrial function, boost ATP production, help to optimize your hormones, re mineralize the body with ionic minerals, boost cognitive function, assist detoxification and support your gut health via the microbiome.

Yeah, exactly what you just said there like the the environment is supportive basically in allow allowing us to return to that sync synchronization and that coherence so much easier. And if we have gotten out of coherence, but in an indoor environment around artificial blue light and stressors and electromagnetic fields, it's so it's like trying to meditate in a very crowded and noisy place.
If you're not an experienced meditator, it's very, very hard to tap in and to find your inner peace, right. But if you've been doing it for a long time, it's easy to find it in those chaotic. And that's the beauty of practice and repetition, I feel like. Do you think that you can achieve the same level of coherence or main maintenance of coherence in chaotic places if you practice in understanding what actually coherence feels like? Absolutely, absolutely. So heart coherence exercises are special to me because 20 years ago I got really sick.
I was diagnosed with two autoimmune conditions, Lyme disease. And heart coherence was one of the things that I utilized to help myself heal. And you know, over the last five years there have has been this sort of polarization of society and politics and our our discussions. It's very black or white. We're very quick to condemn someone of a different viewpoint. And I think that from my experience, I have been utilizing heart coherence exercises for so long for my own health and and regulating my own nervous system from from a perspective of wanting better health.
But this division that we've seen in society that has been happening where views are so polarized and conversations are so aggressive and divisive. My own personal practice of heart coherence has let me, you know, I don't have to sit down and, and do the breathing and do the visualization and go down into the heart and do this whole multi step process. I can just take a breath and be in that state. And oftentimes, certainly not always, but oftentimes that state of coherence will change that divisive a conversation or argument that I'm in, that other person will become entrained.
And and you can do it in the moment. You can do it in the moment when somebody is aggressively opposing what you have to say or is upset. You can just drop into that space of coherence, and I think that it helps align the entire interaction. Like I said, certainly not always, but I've witnessed this so many times over the last five years that my own state of coherence can be dropped into actively in the moment in a conversation, and that can change the dynamics of the conversation dramatically. Yeah.
So it basically begins with this conscious awareness, I guess, because the more the more you practice these hard coherence exercises and in general to be incoherent with your entire being, you're able to be aware about your thoughts, your habits, your behaviors, the way you respond or whether you react. And there are for sure some habits and behaviors in our daily life, even if we are aware of all of the good things that actually take us out of coherence and make us more reactive than to be able to respond, right?
So This is why, again, it's so important to be in connection with nature as much as possible so that we are as much in alignment with our true essence of our being. Because the more we are away from our true essence, I feel like it's so easy to be more reactive. And I feel like that's why a lot of people are reactive on social media and in life is because we are living out of alignment, out of coherence. And as you said, it's so important to use your coherence to influence other people's maybe incoherence to make them coherent, right?
So even on social media, for example, when somebody puts me like a mean comment, I always respond to them back either in a neutral or a kind way. Because in this way, we are not just stocking the fire, We're not adding fuel to the fire, right? Because if I just answer back, then that whole cycle just keeps going. And I feel bad now. So it's, it's now affected even more individuals. So it's really cool that, you know, as human beings, we have this massive ability just through our personal opinion and the way that we bring about things, we can alter people's Physiology and they're also their emotional and mental state as well.
I would, I would actually love to now move on to the light actually inside our body, which is also known as biophotons, right. Maybe, maybe you can tell us a bit about what a biophoton actually is and where are they generated from? Absolutely. So fascinating that we are creating light and we see that biophotons that was a term that was used by Fritz Albert Pop and he was sort of a pioneer in this field. He really piggybacked on research from Gerswich, who was looking at onion division, right? How does an onion divide and grow?
And he was looking at the roots of onions, and he put onions in Quartz containers, and he would put the roots together, and when he did that, he would see them rapidly divide and grow. When he put them in opaque containers where light couldn't be transmitted through the containers, he saw that they didn't divide, that there wasn't the cellular growth. And that's where this idea of light signaling in the body started. And Pop certainly expanded on this idea. And he found that biophotons are created in our mitochondria.
Every time we create a molecule of ATP and water and infrared energy, we're creating a biophoton or a what people are calling a ultra weak ultraviolet light emission. And it's weak in the sense that we have a hard time seeing it. It's actually not weak in the sense of its strength. And we see them created in our mitochondria. They're created in our DNA and, and some cellular processes. And what TOP really pioneered and many researchers have confirmed and are continuing this work is that these biophotons aren't random.
So it's not just like, OK, the mitochondria are creating ATP and we see these blips of biophotons and the DNA, there's blips over here and it's just associated with metabolic action. They're coherent. They are being used, it looks like because of their coherence, they are being used as messengers in the body. They are being used as light messaging in the body. And when we think about what's happening in the body, we see that there are so many different molecules and cellular proteins that can pick up on light emissions where there is no traditional light, right?
Where there where it's a arc environment, the the gut, for example, or areas in the brain where light isn't penetrating to these deep internal structures yet there are these flavins and opsins and different proteins that are meant to pick up on light information. And biophotons are incredibly sophisticated. So you see that a cell that is stressed has really high levels of biophoton emission. It's kind of like a SOS, like, hey, hey, I need help. Things aren't going well. And then you have healthy cells in this Goldilocks zone where they are, you know, not too high, not too low.
They signify a healthy functioning cell. And then you have these damaged dysfunctional cells that are on their way to being removed from the body, hopefully on their way to death, and they are creating very low biophoton emission, as if their light and life are going out. And this is something that we see in our cells, certainly, but we also see it in the microbiome. We have research out there showing that different species of microbes in the microbiome have their own unique biophoton emission. It's like their own voice really, their own signature, and they are communicating with each other.
So there's this credible research study where a certain species of bacteria is put in a photo modulator, a box where the light is completely blocked. It cannot get get into the box. And there's another species that is in a similar box and they're not. They're close, but they're not touching. And the researchers started injecting one of the species of bacteria with hydrogen peroxide, which is not ideal for life, right? That's a very stressful, dangerous environment. And not only did it change the biophoton emission of the microbes that were being exposed to the hydrogen peroxide, you know, like this is intense.
Biophoton emission is going up just like we talked about with, with cells that are stressed and their biophoton emission increasing. But the box that was next to them, that was a different species of microbe all together, it also responded to that light emission of the other bacterium. So we see that they are not only having their own unique bio photon signature, but they're communicating with this and it's just starting to lay out this map or this picture of how the body is communicating with light.
Wow. Yeah. So basically there's this quantum communication going on throughout the body, even if even if, let's say, light itself. Or maybe it's just the way that we understand light, right? As human beings, we tend to think of light as just the visible light that we see. But we also have the invisible part of the electromagnetic spectrum and somehow that is having these non linear quantum effects, which is communicating to the other bacteria in the other dish, for example, in a way that we don't understand.
So for example, even though they covered the box in a way that the visible light can't get in, but clearly maybe it's the, maybe it's producing, as you said, these ultra weak UV or bio photons that are invisible to the naked eye or to a, a sensor, let's say, or, or to a camera that they are trying to, you know, do the experiment with. And then it seems like what's actually going on here? Are they, how, what are they creating some kind of magnetic field that they are communicating with each other or what's actually going on?
And so by actually understanding this, how does this tie in with our, let's say, our overall health and well-being? How can we connect that to understanding better health? That's a great question. And I think we can solidly take away from this that mitochondrial health is really important, right When our mitochondria are working and functioning that the way they should be. There is coherent biophotonic mission and we see that clearly. So that's one basic take away that we can walk away from this with.
But also there's this incredible new paradigm of how the body is working. And one of my favorite researchers, Irena Kosik, talks about the ability for the body to work with resonance so that a cell doesn't have to come up to another cell. The receptors don't have to match up. And this physical reaction, it's a reaction of resonance. And her research looks at biophotons and ultraviolet light. It looks at infrared light, it looks at terahertz. I mean, she's really gone into many different layers of the electromagnetic spectrum.
And she's seen that proteins and enzymes in the body are utilizing these different frequencies to communicate and induce action at a distance. So it's like 2 tuning forks resonating at 2:00, different spots at a distance, yet they're communicating, they're creating action from a distance and from that interaction of frequency. And we see that in different theories about water as well. The quantum electrodynamic theory of water with Emilio del Gutiche and Giuliano Preparata, they talk about these coherent domains in water, in liquid water.
So you've got liquid water and then within water there are these clusters of hydrogens where the hydrogens hook up and create these clusters in water. And these clusters can resonate with electromagnetic frequency. They can resonate with electromagnetic frequency outside of the water and there is a transfer of energy and information via this resonance. And Cosics work definitely talks about that. She's not just talking about proteins and enzymes, she's talking about the water that covers them. And so it's, it's absolutely a fascinating way to look at the body that reminds us that coherence is important, that the water within our body is important, our mitochondria are important.
And it takes us not away from a chemical, mechanical model, but it expands that idea to include other ways that the body works. Yes. So that opens up the idea of energy medicine and all these incredible tools that we already talked about. For example, I see that breath is sort of like energy medicine, right? Because when you breathe, you're, you're creating this heart coherence, but you're also creating a form of sound as well, a very subtle sound as you breathe, but you're also creating a form of vibration as well as the, as the air is entering your, your nostrils and it's going down into your lungs.
You have many different forms of frequency happening all at once. And of course you have temperature and all of these things are interplaying, you know, with our biology and they are influencing the way that our system is actually responding. And, and just by the way that we breathe, whether we breathe fast or shallow or deep is going to influence the way that our metabolism is working. And therefore I assume also the bio photon emission, because obviously, as you said that bio photons are are a result of metabolism.
So basically when the body is making this ATP energy. So one of the questions I wanted to ask you was, is the bio photon a part of the reactive oxygen species or is it the same thing as reactive reactive oxygen species? It's, it's part, that's a great question. It's part of the process. It's part of the process. So you're getting both things that are created and you're getting lots of things that are created when that happens, right, You're getting those reactive oxygen species, you're getting infrared energy, you're getting water, you're getting ATP and you're getting that biophotonic emission.
So lots of communication. Happening there in the electron transport chain and the mitochondria where we think of, OK, they're the powerhouses, they create ATP, but really this is a communication hub in the body. And our mitochondria are so sensitive to different frequencies that we've been talking about to light, to electromagnetic frequency, to the frequency of our thoughts. Martin Picard has done incredible research and continues to do incredible research on how our mental state influences our mitochondrial health and function.
And it's profound. And so our mitochondria are really sensors, they're really antennas as well, picking up on this information within the body, but external to the body as well and using that to communicate within the body and let the body know what's happening. It's incredibly sophisticated and and way, way more advanced than this idea of AR Mitochondria create ATP energy source of the body, right? They're really this sophisticated communication network. They are sharing electrons, right? We see that they create these nano tubules and tunnels where they can shuttle energy.
And you know, it gets really strange. We're so used to talking about particle, an electron, and that little circle is orbiting a proton, but really that's not the way it is. Electrons are just energy. They are a wave of energy. Everything we're talking about here is a wave or frequency. So the more we can kind of shift our mind into thinking away from billiard balls of particles interacting to different frequencies that maybe come out of a tuning fork, right? Maybe that's a better idea of how we visualize what's happening in the body is that there are different frequencies, different waves that carry different energy and information.
And electrons are the same way. And so when we're talking about electrons shuttling down the mitochondria and we're thinking, OK, there's that billiard ball going to one complex and the next complex and the next complex, we should be thinking about how it is a flow of a wave of information. It's it's a wave. It's not a particle. I've been using red light therapy for many years now, but only since I started using EMR Tech red light therapy panels did I really start to notice the true benefits of red light therapy.
I'm using EMR Tech's Fire Dragon pro and the inferno pro. So do you think that the role of the mitochondria actually is not necessarily to will not only produce energy, but it's mainly to produce information and it because we know that many things are influencing the mitochondria.
So information from the external and internal environment is influencing the mitochondria. So it's sort of like a feedback loop a little bit like how our hearts responds to our breath that, you know, the information that we are creating inside and outside is therefore influencing the information it produces. And therefore that information and is carried on the light that the type of light emission is going to produce. Whether that is going to be weak, low or variable. I don't, I don't know if it if it changes like the type of light that it makes and therefore influencing the water and the weather, the water is going to be structured or unstructured and all of this stuff.
Do you know? Yeah, Yeah. I think that's an incredible way to look at it is that it's these interactions of fields, these interactions of vibrating waves of energy and information. And I can have a wave at this frequency that communicates this energy and, and transmits energy as well as data as well as information. And then that induces a different wave. I mean, look at the ocean and how different waves interact and how different waves can come together and form a wave that's bigger in amplitude, magnifying the physical effects of that wave.
Or two waves can come together, collide at, you know, more of a perpendicular fashion and collapse that wave so that it doesn't propagate through the ocean. And I think that we will probably start to see similar things once we get away from this idea of everything is matter in the body, that we have particles of electrons flowing this way versus these waves of energy. And what do these waves carry and what do they signify and what action do they have? What are they trying to say? What are they trying to induce in the body?
And how they change other waves of information? And I think that that will hold so such an in incredible expansion to our understanding of how the body works and how to influence it, how to influence those waves so that they propagate that wave of health, that wave of coherence, how we can get that to propagate throughout the body. Yeah. So it's basically not interfering with the natural flow that is supposed to be occurring. And I assume that as well, our nervous system state is also influencing this coherence and the flow because if our, if we're stuck back in a parasympathetic state, we can be more tense.
And therefore if our tissues are more tense, then this flow is not actually occurring as as good as we want it to be. Whether that's blood flow, lymphatic system flow, we have this energy, energetic system, fluoride, this chi, this life force energy, or what we're talking about right now. Could you would you say that these biophotons are part of the the chi system? I, I think that's a great analogy. And I think that we could talk about biophotons being part of this unseen energy that dictates life around us.
And I think that we could sort of expand that out to all kinds of different wavelengths, right? Like we were just talking about the resonance recognition model and how they have identified terahertz, they've identified infrared, ultraviolet, red spectrums. They have is so in the visible spectrum, so many different spectrums of waves of energy that the body is actually using to communicate, to send information, to send energy. And I think we're just absolutely at the tip of the iceberg there. And what these ancient indigenous cultures always spoke about as this flow of information and energy in the body absolutely could come back to these different spectrums of electromagnetic frequency.
Whether it's light, whether it is a visible light, ultraviolet light, infrared light, terahertz, all of these different electromagnetic spectrums and how they hold information and energy for the body to utilize. So basically the field of quantum biology is explaining spirituality, you know, in a, in a, in a scientific method. Basically, we're now we're just proving what's actually what people have been saying for thousands of years through different cultures. Now we're understanding actually what's happening on a biophysical level.
It's actually having a very visceral and physical impact, like we've said throughout this entire episode. And do you think that, for example, there are specific things that we can do to optimize our bio photon emission? Because I think it's, I think it's quite hard to know whether you are producing too much or too less bio photons, right? Intuitively, you would need some specific scientific, I don't know, instrument or camera or something to be able to see in you or around your body or something to see your aura or something that you know, how is your, you know, what's your bio photon emission spectrum, the amplitude, all of this stuff.
I, I feel like we don't understand so much right now about the human body and the, and the bio photons that we could take so much advantage of this. And if we did understand what would be like an optimal, what an optimal human being produces, let's say in terms of bio photo and emission, like in spectrum or intensity or whatever, then we could figure out, OK, this is what we should be aiming for through our daily life practices. If we're able to use some kind of scientific method to measurably quantify this, then we would be know that the internal environment over our body is actually incoherence and is thriving.
So I think it would be really call in the future if they came out with something unless you know that it exists already. Yes, there are things out there that can measure your bio photon emission, but they're not really for personal use. They're quite expensive, right? Agriculture is using different meters to assess bio photon emission because it's a marker of how fresh the produce is. But there are similar things in the health space. But it's something like a clinic would utilize because it is expensive.
So individual monitors of bio photon emission aren't readily available right now. I, I hope that they do become available, but another way to think of it is mitochondrial health, how our mitochondria are, are functioning and what inputs we're putting in the body to affect mitochondrial health. Are we moving and getting infrared energy from the world around us to affect infrared or mitochondrial health? Are we getting natural light to impact mitochondrial health? Are we getting those mitochondrial uncouplers that help uncouple the mitochondria, increase numbers of mitochondria and increase the lifespan of mitochondria, right?
Are we getting into ketosis, which helps with that? Are we having a diet that's rich in polyphenols? Polyphenols are incredible, and they have that benzene ring that can utilize light information as well. And they go into that electron transport chain where those mitochondrial uncoupler proteins are, and they help induce a longer life of that mitochondria and a increase in the number that mitochondrial Biogenesis. Are we exposing ourselves to the natural rhythms of the weather around us? Are we hot in the summer?
Are we cold in the winter? That is inducing change in health and function in the mitochondria as well. So when we think of biophotons, we can think of ways to impact our mitochondrial health and our our DNA health. And it's not really surprising that they look quite similar. They the things that we would do to impact our DNA health and the things that we would do to impact our mitochondrial health are really similar, right? We were going to want to be circadian driven. We're going to want to have some ketosis in our life.
We're going to want to have quality fats. We're going to want to have good light exposure. We're going to want to have good polyphenol content in our diet at times. And so it's it's not surprising that they look similar when we're talking about how these things can act as antennas for the frequency information around us, biophotons included. Yeah. And it's this epigenetic expression, right? Because it's not so much about our, we're not doomed by the specific genes that were born with, but we can alter the way that our genes are expressed, I assume through this bio photo and emission.
That's actually probably how it's happening, right? We have this light produced by the mitochondria and therefore the DNA can pick up this light and then determine what's going to happen with the DNA expression. Would you? Would you agree? It seems to to be working that way. Absolutely. And I, I am just so hopeful that we continue to move in this direction where we are starting to understand the bioelectric and biophotonic communication in the body. And I think we're moving there. I think, you know, researchers like Michael Levin, he's so prolific.
He's publishing like 30 to 40 research articles each year, and he's talking about the bioelectric communication in the body. And he's really sort of extending the work of people like Albert St. Georgie and Robert O Becker and this idea that we communicate with these electromagnetic fields. We are electric beings. And so I'm hopeful that we will continue and this will become something that is more readily utilized. I think that the research right now is really going to electroseuticals where we are using devices to induce electrical changes in the body that can affect health and function.
And I think it would be really incredible to create a field of research that is looking at free accessible ways, right? Sort of like the research around earthing and grounding and how we can affect this communication in the body in a free accessible way. I think that it always makes sense, right, that the money always flows towards something that we will be able to profit from, right? So of course, like these electroceuticals, I didn't know that they existed. So it's so cool that you brought it to my awareness because I was actually thinking that now that we understand all of this information that you just said on the podcast, there are these electroceuticals and then there are so many free ways to influence, you know, the frequency of our body and our field and we're able to alter our epigenetic expression.
So I assume that even the food that we eat can be a frequency, for example, like the like the the weather, like the, the temperature can be a frequency. The Earth's electromagnetic field, the sun obviously is an orchestra of of frequency, right? Is is there anything I'm missing in terms of freeways that people can utilize this frequency manipulation or like medicine? Well, nature holds so much of it right. You mentioned light, the sea of free electrons that line the earth. That's another valuable way to induce electrical charge in the body, Negative ions.
So being by waterways with that water sharing that happens and creates negative alliance ions whether that ocean spray beamed by a waterfall, rainfall. But a lot of people don't realize that when wind goes through natural plants, so trees with their leaves or their branches, grass, any type of natural material like that, the wind is picking up negative ions. So when we're outside, we are enveloped in a sea of negative ions that impact our nervous system, our immune system, our mitochondrial function.
And I think one thing we often don't think about is our thoughts, our own internal coherence and how that impacts our ability to have electrical charge and, and flow and coherence in the body. And I think that you mentioned earlier breath. Breath work is an incredible way to induce charge in the body. I was reading 1 research article that said that they measured the function, the electrical charge after exercise and after breath work and breath work was dramatically higher than after exercise. And so I think that all of these things are free and accessible and the side effects are quite low, right?
The side effects of going outside of practicing breath work, of having heart coherence and ascent heart centered sort of existence, the side effects we're talking about are quite low. And then I think some people would even mention that the type of water that we're drinking and creating those coherent domains in the water, energizing our water could be a way to extract more energy from the water we're drinking as well. So, so many different ways. And before we started recording, you mentioned Vada Austin's work, and I think Vada Austin and Massaro Emoto both hint at this idea that when we come towards our food and the water that we drink, if we come towards it with an attitude of curiosity, of gratitude, of awe, that could actually be changing the amount of energy that's in there, the structure that's in there.
So again, whether or not we have definite proof of this isn't always necessary because the side effects of having gratitude for the water you're drinking or the food you're eating are beneficial. Even if we aren't at a stage where we can say definitively this is what happens when you do this, just like the biofield, we know that the outcome is better. We know that the outcome of people that approach a meal with gratitude, they have better digestion, they have a better nervous system state, they have better absorption, they have better output of digestive enzymes and things that help us assimilate food.
So I think that it's it's just incredible toolkit that we can put together and free things to influence this frequency information in the body. Methylene blue, an incredibly powerful substance that has an affinity for the mitochondria, discovered in 1876 at first as a textile dye, it didn't take long before it was noticed for its unusual biological effects. Here is a list of all the things that methylene blue is known for. My personal favorites it is effects that. Has on the mitochondria, methylene blue acts as a redox agent.
What this means is that it has the ability to grab onto electrons, donate and transfer them anywhere where energy is required in the body. And we know that most Neolithic diseases these days are due to a lack of cellular energy ATP. The more electrons we can get through successfully along the electron transport chain in the mitochondria, the more deuterium depleted water. We can make. As well as the end of energy production, which is ATP, the energy that we need to power all our cellular processes come from electrons.
So it only makes sense the more we take care of our mitochondria and our energy production, more energy we have for our overall health, well-being and vitality. If you wish to explore the methylene blue that I use, head over to maragimedicinal.com/mobility Fitness and use the promo code Mobility Fitness at checkout for 15% of your entire order. Absolutely. And and based on all these things that you just mentioned, the key. The factor here is energy or charge, and then this charge being that I guess equaling information, right?
So then, you know, as people are building this charge by doing all of these different practices, this is now informing the mitochondria and the cells and the body how to orchestrate their functions and therefore carry out their dance that they're supposed to do in a coherent fashion, not crashing into each other, but sorts of flowing as they should be, like a waterfall. That's a beautiful way to put it. Yeah, absolutely. That's a beautiful way to put it. You mentioned previously about the uncoupling proteins that had a little bit of a question about that.
So you mentioned how that the uncoupling of the OR the mitochondrial uncoupling is important for mitochondrial health. So you mentioned that, for example, things like polyphenols stimulate this mitochondrial uncoupling exercise, I assume also promotes mitochondrial uncoupling, things like sauna. Does that promote mitochondrial uncoupling too? Yeah, so cold. Yes, both heat extremes exposures, those influence mitochondrial uncoupling. Certain fats can do the same thing. Quality fats can induce mitochondrial uncoupling.
And it's quite interesting that some of those things are influencing the mitochondria in a couple different ways, right? They're influencing not only the flow of electrons, but also the mitochondrial uncoupling. So it's it's just fascinating to look at some of the tools, free tools that we have of what we choose to eat at how we choose to eat, how we choose to interact with the world around us. That can be profoundly important to how our mitochondria function. So basically this uncoupling process that's actually happening from these different activities and tasks and foods and and factors.
Would you say that it's actually a stressor on the mitochondria, sort of like an exercise which makes the mitochondria fitter and stronger? I you could say that the way I think about mitochondrial uncoupling is that it uncouples that inner mitochondrial membrane where the electron transport chain is happening. And so electrons are not going through that, that tunneling phase that they usually do. And protons are coming back into the matrix of the inside of the mitochondria. And So what we see is these electrons are being lost as heat.
They are being lost in this thermodynamic conversion. We see this in shivering, right When we shiver, when we're cold, that is a mitochondrial effect of those uncoupling of those membranes and those electrons being lost as heat. And that's very powerful for weight loss, for fat burning. But what it also does is it's, I mean, we can think of the mitochondria kind of like a car. So we want a car that is fast that we can put our foot on the gas and it accelerates really fast and goes fast when we need it.
But we also want that car to have brakes, right? And that's what the uncoupling proteins are. They allow the mitochondria to take a break, which allows them to increase their lifespan. So that mitochondria that's becoming uncoupled is going to live longer. Not only that, but when it becomes uncoupled, it sends signals to create more mitochondria. So you have the the mitochondria and the single mitochondria and that's uncoupled that is going to live longer, which we want. And it's also sending signals for new mitochondria to be created, which we also want.
So it's it's kind of like a car being able to accelerate, you know, create ATP rage through that infrared energy and ATP and water production that we see by a photon emission and then also put the brakes on that acceleration and live a long life. We want that car to not just burn out quickly as well as creating new mitochondria. So it's a beautiful, sophisticated organelle. Mitochondria are absolutely fascinating and intelligent. Yeah, great breakdown. Thank you so much for that. Because I've been also reading the in in obesity, for example, and diabetes, there is less mitochondrial uncoupling occurring.
There is more mitochondrial coupling and I can assume that this is burning the mitochondria out faster than as you said that this my uncoupling process must be a vital part to our everyday life. For example, we know that doing stressors in a small amount can be very beneficial, which is causing this uncoupling process. But I can also assume that uncoupling too much as well can also be detrimental. Would you agree on that? Yeah, I think that with everything in the body, just like in nature, there's this duality, right?
We need natural light. We need that sunrise exposure and that sunlight throughout the day and that sunset, but we also need darkness. And we could say the same thing about mitochondrial coupling and uncoupling. We need the mitochondria and to work and produce ATP and all these byproducts of infrared energy and water and biophotons and reactive oxygen species. We also need it to rest. We also need it to uncouple. We also need it to send signals of MiTo, chondrial Biogenesis, create new mitochondria.
So I think that just like everything we've seen in nature, there's this duality and we often get in this state of that's good, that's bad, where actually we need both. Both are essential to an overall healthy mitochondrial population and our overall health and longevity. And would you say that actually producing new mitochondria is because like why the uncoupled mitochondrion is signaling to produce new mitochondrial because the body now is getting less NATP, so it would actually need more engines to produce the energy.
Would you say that that's what's happening? Yeah, absolutely. I think the uncoupling of that membrane potential sends out a signal of, oh, we need more help. We need more mitochondria here, which is great. Producing more mitochondria is helpful for the body and being able to couple and uncouple the a single mitochondrion is really impactful in the body and we need both states, we need it to be coupled and influencing ATP production and all those different by products. But yeah, we need it to uncouple and induce new mitochondria as well.
So cool. It just shows you how like just one mitochondria can have a massive influence on the mitochondria around just as weak and you know, as an individual influence all the people around us. I want to be respectful of your time. So I'm just going to ask you one last question, if that's OK. Yeah, absolutely. OK. So the last question would be, do you think that memory is stored in the brain and in the body or not? And and why? What's your What's your view? That is a great question, and we could have spent the whole hour on this one.
That is a great question, and I think that there's some interesting research out there that points to memory not being stored in the brain. There are cells outside of the brain that hold memory as well. There are years and years, decades and centuries of anecdotal evidence from body workers that talk about how memories are stored in the muscles in the fascia, and when you release that fascia, you release that memory or that trauma. There are people like Eileen Mckusick that would even extend that idea to how memory is held in the field around us.
Or Rupert Sheldrakes work of morphic resonance and how it's not only the individuals memory that's held in the biofield or the field around them. There is this idea of morphic resonance and the memory of a species can be held in the invisible fields of energy, these morphic field, as he calls them. And so I think the idea of memory being held solely in the brain is really such a limiting idea. And science is starting to move away from that and gather evidence of that. And there's certainly lots of anecdotal evidence and researchers out there that say that memory, that consciousness is held in the field and our body acts as an antenna, a receiver of that information.
It doesn't produce it. It receives, can store it and can emit it. You know, when we look at Rupert Sheldrake's work, he talks about how our own of individual experience can impact the morphic field of our species. If I learn to do a new skill here in North America, someone in Asia can pick up on that skill much faster because there is a knowing, a knowledge in the morphic field, in this morphic resonant field that he talks about so much with his work and his research. So I think it's so limiting to say that memory is held in the brain versus all of these, all of these different things that we have a growing awareness and evidence of memory existing outside of the brain possibly in the field.
Wow, so so basically it's like this idea of that when you are experiencing or having an experience or a memory or thoughts or you're basically storing this information now in this collective cloud. Let's say that everyone, everyone who is let's say tapped in could maybe or needs that information is sorts of accessing it at any moment is if somebody really, really far away is having a question about something and you in your brain have the answer to that question. That person can can feel that he's having or they are having a specific download of information, thinking that it came from nowhere, but it might have just come from another human being from the other side of the planet.
Yeah, absolutely. That's absolutely what Rupert Sheldrake talks about, and he isn't the only one. I mean, if you look at Stuart Hammerhoff and Rodger Penrose's work on consciousness, what they talk about is the neurons in the brain have these microtubules and these microtubules have tubulin, and within the tubulin they're tryptophan molecules and these molecules have a six sided ring. And everything we've been talking about today, whether it's easy structured water, whether it's a polyphenol, whether it is, is DNA, mitochondria, the fats that affects these things, they all have this six sided ring.
And these six sided rings have electrons in them called π electrons that are free, They can disassociate. They create this wave of energy that goes throughout a system. And they postulate that those electrons, that wave of energy is able to connect with a universal wave of energy. And that's what consciousness is. This consciousness is the ability of the tryptophan in the tubulins and our neurons to be able to act as an antenna for this universal consciousness, this field of consciousness. And it can go by so many names, a, a unified field, the zero point field of the Akashic field, right?
There's so many different names. And ancient indigenous cultures have spoke forever about this idea of a universal field of intelligence from where we came from and will return to and have the ability to connect to. And that's what consciousness is. So we certainly have researchers out there that are really at the forefront and and starting to create this emerging field of understanding around consciousness and how we are acting as antennas or receivers for that. That's so cool. Thank you so much.

I'm Doctor Catherine Clinton everywhere. So that's my website. I have a lot of free resources available there. I'm Doctor Catherine Clinton on YouTube and Instagram and Facebook, and I love talking about this so you can find me in those places. Yeah, I feel that this episode has been such a great information for the whole world because we've given people like this understanding and knowledge about how you can influence your health. Not just by the food that you eat or the OR the type of exercise that you do or your sleep, but you can actually influence your health from the type of frequency that you're exposed to.
You know, and you have you have the healthy type of frequencies, which are, you know, free and you know, they're really good for you and they're from nature. And then you have the unhealthy ones, which are primarily man made. So we want to strike that balance by spending more the majority of our time in connection with the stuff that's actually tuning us to the coherence that we're looking for, so that our body can naturally flow as it should. And we need to minimize the incoherent fields and their frequencies so that we can live life in alignment and with true purpose.
So with that being said, I'll end it here. Doctor Catherine, thank you so much. And I would absolutely love to do it again in the future. Absolutely, absolutely.
